When Jeanne, the shoestore clerk goes into the back shed to look for a particular style of shoe for a customer, the customer is left in an empty shop. After a few minutes as Jeanne is trapped, the customer impatiently leaves because there is no one there in the shop to help her. Minutes later when the police arrive, there are clerks and customers in the store whom they immediately evacuate.
After the radioactive car with the dead man inside is found, the officer tells Jensen, Richards, and Dr. Wallace "the car's been completely stripped...registration, license plates, there's not even an old matchbook cover..." Earlier, however, when the officer with the Geiger Counter first gets out of his patrol car, the front license plate is clearly visible.
When Vince Ryker runs in panic from his room after chasing out his landlady, the wall painting is crooked, and there is nothing on small table beneath it. When the police enter a short time later, the picture is straight, and there is a milk carton and packaging from a sandwich on the small table.
In the opening minutes there are two shots of Ryker's car speeding along the road, obviously intended to be some distance apart - the second shows the car overtaking another vehicle. Both shots are, however, of the same stretch of road and from the same viewpoint.
When Vince Edwards is stopped at the roadblock, he pulls up behind a Pontiac. As he drives away from the roadblock, the same Pontiac is driving down the hill into the same roadblock.
The danger of exposure to Cobalt-60 and the speed at which exposure can cause serious risk are wildly exaggerated, as when it's declared to be "the deadliest thing known."
Cobalt-60 is easily shielded and would not have the adverse effects it does if kept in a lead container. Actually, cobalt-60 emits both both gamma rays and beta particles. While the beta is easily shielded by the canister (which did not appear to be lead), the high-energy gamma rays would have a serious effect on a human who carried a canister of cobalt-60 for several days.
The same shots of the policemen surrounding the restaurant are repeated between the time Vince Ryker enters and leaves.
The radioactive car is said to be on the 1500 block of Palm Drive. Palm Drive street numbers don't go above 800.
