- George Fowler: Look, Mr Egan, I don't know what Gino told you about me but I didn't come here to be a petty thief.
- George Fowler: You left her there?
- Gino: She'll be alright...
- George Fowler: You left her there with those apes?
- Eddie's Wife: Eddie - don't. It won't do any good - he's just vicious.
- George Fowler: [releasing his hostage] I'm not... I'm not... I'm not one of them...
- Willie: [in bathrobe, returning to the hotel room] What you are doin', John ?
- John Egan: What do you care.
- Willie: I wish we had our own bath. I don't like going down the hall all the time.
- John Egan: Don't wash so much.
- Willie: John ? ... John ? Why can't I drive ? I get allright in South Bend. Why does that punk get to ?
- John Egan: You're inside where I can watch you.
- Willie: I can do it.
- John Egan: You got pinky ears, Willie.
- Willie: What makes you think that punk can do any better ?
- John Egan: He's a good boy.
- Willie: I bet he runs.
- John Egan: You're gettin' fat, Willie.
- Willie: Lay off.
- John Egan: Remember, when you came inside ? Good lookin' kid, then. Regular mama's boy.
- Willie: Shut up !
- John Egan: Yeah, I thought they'll gonna kill you that first week. Until you found me. I took good care of you, too. You did five standing on your head. But you're gettin' old, Willie.
- Willie: What about you ?
- John Egan: You see that George ? Maybe we ought to take him to Mexico with us. Ha ha ha. Would you l i k e that ?
- Willie: Leave me alone.
- John Egan: Go take a bath, Willie.
- Willie: I don't want to.
- John Egan: I said go take a bath !
- George Fowler: [after Gino stumbles out of bathroom, panic-attacked] What's the matter with you ?
- Gino: I thought I can beat it.
- George Fowler: Beat what ? What you are talkin' about ?
- Gino: I tell you one thing: I'll never goin' back. No matter what. I'll never goin' back.
- George Fowler: Let's go to that movie, huh, Gino ?
- George Fowler: You don't think very much of me, do you ?
- Ann: I think I'm sorry for you.
- George Fowler: Look. They come around and they promise you everything. They keep you in college because you can do something well. They make you feel like you're God or something. One mistake - and you find out you're just hired help.
- Ann: Do you believe that ?
- George Fowler: Oh, it's the way it is ! Don't misunderstand me. I'm not feeling sorry for myself. I got my chance simply because I can run harder than some other guy. But, if I want a chance now, I got to grab it.
- Ann: What do you mean 'a chance' ? A chance to do what ?
- George Fowler: I... See... now I don't want to go through life. I never get back to where I was.
- Ann: What can I tell you ? I don't know all the answers. I only know what happened to us. When you walked out on me, it hurt. But I can see now, that you're the one that was really hurt. And if you do this thing, you run yourself rotten - another Gino. Pretty soon, you won't remember you were ever anything else !
- George Fowler: What you are gonna do now, Ann ? I'm not any different.
- Ann: George...
- George Fowler: Don't do anything crazy now !
- Ann: I don't know if I can let you do this.
- George Fowler: Don't talk like that ! I gotta go now. Just don't do anything crazy.
- Ann: Give it up. Please, give it up.
- George Fowler: Hey John, you must've met a lot of guys... on jobs, I mean.
- John Egan: That's possible.
- George Fowler: Have you ever known a guy who just did one and quit ? You know, made a lot of money and bought a business or somethin' ?
- John Egan: Sure... That's what I'm gonna do.
- George Fowler: How come you never did it before ?
- John Egan: I did. Couple of times. Once, I even had a farm.
- George Fowler: What happened ?
- John Egan: Oh, things happened. That's all. I don't know. You get to feeling like a square, the money isn't too good...
