The third of ten feature films co-starring Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. They also teamed for three TV movies and mini-series.
This is one of a very few movies that stars two actors who were married to each other, each of whom won an Academy Award for acting during their careers-Paul Newman for The Color of Money (1986), and Joanne Woodward for The Three Faces of Eve (1957).
Joanne Woodward and Patrick O'Neal would later co-star once again in A Fine Madness (1966). O'Neal played a psychiatrist in both films.
Despite winning a Golden Globe Award for her performance, Ina Balin does not appear in the first 85 minutes of this film.
