Set in Scotland, this film was partially shot in Perthshire, Scotland and partially in Co. Wicklow, Ireland, in the Enniskerry and Roundwood areas.
This was only the second time that Peter O'toole filmed in Ireland, the first being " The Lion in Winter ".
LMF - Low Moral Fibre was the classification of those RAF airmen who refused to fly on operations in WWII. The men were swiftly demoted, transfered to another base or even sent to work down the coalmines. It is unlikely that the character Pink would have been classified as LMF at the Royal Military College Sandhurst as it trains officers for the British Army not the RAF.
The writer James Kennaway, who wrote the novel " Household Ghosts " on which the movie is based, died in a car crash, after driving home from a meeting with Peter O'Toole about the script for " Brotherly Love". He was just 40.
