Allen and Rossi dismissed their cinematic debut as "just a series of sight gags." Although they were planning an independently-produced "comeback" picture written by Steve Rossi, titled Off Your Rocket,, the team disbanded later that year.
Marty and Steve were depicted as appearing on The Ed Sullivan Show (1948) at the end of the picture. In real life, the comedy duo appeared a total of 44 times on that program. That scene was shot on the set of the show in New York on 18 January 1966.
