- TriviaThe final Tom and Jerry cartoon directed by Chuck Jones.
- Crazy creditsJust after Jerry Mouse poured a jar of pepper, into the wide opened mouth of a very hungry shark, that was very close to eating Tom Cat. The shark was eventually canned. However, Tom was not thankful of being rescued, and when he returned to Jerry. Red devil horns were on Tom's head popped Jerry's halo, of doing an angelic good deed. Then, Jerry escaped from Tom, by diving into the sea. Shortly after escaping, red devil horns are now on Jerry's head. As his way of revenge and heavily scare Tom, Jerry swims barely underwater and directly towards Tom. Jerry is now holding a fake fin of a shark, making Tom think it is another shark! As Jerry starts chasing Tom and Tom runs away extremely quick, then the Closing Credits musical clip begins.

Cannery Rodent is mildly amusing, but it isn't that great in my opinion. There are of course some amusing sight gags, the pacing is quite brisk and the music is nice and upbeat. Plus Tom and Jerry are still likable enough. However, the animation while not the worst-looking of the Tom and Jerry cartoons is not that great, lacking in crispness and vibrancy, and the story is predictable and somewhat unoriginal on the most part, with an ending that held no real surprises for me.
Overall, not brilliant but not the worst of the lot. At least it is no Switchin' Kitten, which is one of the only ones of about three Tom and Jerry cartoons that are best avoided. 6/10 for Cannery Rodent. Bethany Cox
