- Price: Well, it's the altitude. It works up the appetite.
- Lt. Katie Carlson: You're very forceful, aren't you?
- Mason: Do I, er, need force?
- Lt. Katie Carlson: I was talking about vibrations.
- Mason: Oh. How are yours doing?
- Lt. Katie Carlson: What do they say?
- Mason: I'm not sure, but I like them.
- Lt. Katie Carlson: And they like you. In time.
- Dr. Marion Turner: Katie, this isn't a hayride. We're here for a serious purpose!
- Lt. Katie Carlson: What could be more serious than a hayride?
- [last lines]
- Venusian Voice: Last Of Man, listen. The craft you are attempting to communicate with no longer exists. Your sister craft no longer exists.The signal you are following is a warning. Had you been able to decipher its meaning, you would not have attempted to trespass on our world.
- Danny: Your world. Who are you?
- Venusian Voice: We are the collective minds of this world your craft now orbits. Be it enough for you to know that during the span of our evolution, our civilization has witnessed the birth and death of worlds and suns untold. But enough. Your time is short. You may not enter our world. We have witnessed the self-destructive powers of the green planet you call Earth. We have no malice toward you. You have destroyed your place in the universe. Last Of Man, listen. Of this we will tell you. Your journey will continue. Something very strange and very great awaits you beyond the rim of the universe. - [explosion]
- [the doomsday device has been set off and the crew watch a city flood]
- Price: My God... they did it. It's happening. Pure war.
- [he looks up slowly from the viewer; Maj. Mason looks through, sees the Earth flashing like a bulb]
- Lt. Katie Carlson: [worriedly] C'mon everybody, what's all the big surprise about?
- [looks around]
- Lt. Katie Carlson: A few years from now, when we get back...
- [the crew look back at her; shock begins to set in]
- Lt. Katie Carlson: When we get back... *if* we get back...
- Lt. Katie Carlson: [quietly] No... no...
- [then she screams out]
- Lt. Katie Carlson: NOOOOOOOOOO!
- [the Earth continues to explode]
