News spreads quickly throughout The Albert as the identity of the hit-and-run victim is revealed. New patient Edna Curtis arrives as an attempted suicide. Craig and Greg each invite a coworker to attend the intern's party at Bunny's disco. JoJo stuns Craig with an account of what she saw the previous night, and later he receives shocking news about his one night stand.

Craig demands silence about what really happened the night of the hit-and-run. After insisting Edna Curtis allow her husband a visit, Sister Scott realizes why the patient is so reticent. Dennis and hospital secretary Helen Gordon are reunited with Helen's daughter Jill. Frank Curtis makes a threat. Laura confesses a partial truth.

JoJo's ward is terrorized by a night prowler. Dr. Jim Howard gives dad Bunny some fatherly advice. Frank Curtis confides in Dr. Denham about his conflicts with wife Edna. Later, Denham questions Edna for her side of the story. Helen seethes with anger over Jill's new career path.

Craig begs Laura to keep their secret. Tyrannical Dr. Graham Steele rises to his reputation for Gail's first day working with him in casualty. JoJo helps patients Doreen and Andrew find their way together. After a nurse spreads vicious rumors around The Albert, Craig and Laura realize they must scramble to save his job and her marriage. Denham makes a deadly promise.

Against Dr. Steele's and Sister Scott's objections, Greg organizes the traditional interns initiation ceremony. Sister Scott threatens to turn Frank Curtis over to the police if he doesn't leave Edna alone. Edna makes a horrifying confession to Sister Scott. The young doctors' initiation prank takes a serious turn when one of them accidentally confronts the hospital prowler and gun shots are fired.

A young Doctor faces surgery, and the prognosis is worse than originally thought. Edna Curtis makes a statement to the police and Denham about the hit-and-run. Gail is disgusted by Dr. Steele's callous attitude toward the night's events. An intern has a guilty conscience. JoJo tends to a colleague, but Sister Scott warns her not to get too close. Laura wonders if her husband was responsible for the shooting.

Jill's first day on the new job is a disaster. Dr. Denham delivers bad news to a young doctor, who directs his anger at everyone else. Dr. Steele saves Gail from a potentially fatal mistake. A guilty intern attempts to help one of his mates, while another decides to resign from The Albert.

Jim rushes to his father's aid when Bunny falls off the wagon and makes a sudden decision about his restaurant. Julie watches Greg go through his little black book. Released from the hospital, Edna has no place to go. One of Bunny's problems may be resolved. The Albert Memorial becomes the scene of another violent attack as a lunatic exacts his revenge.

Jim and Helen agree to keep a colleague's shameful secret, but Jim fears it's a grave mistake. Jill has run-ins with Dennis and Julie, then turns to an unlikely source, who offers equally unlikely advice. Craig fears what the future holds for him.

Dr. Thornton's hypnotherapy appears successful for the patient, but there is seemingly no cure for Brian Denham's pain. Gail and Marcus Rothwell each question Dr. Shaw's patient Rita Lawson about her multiple surgeries. Craig is forced to tell the truth at last, but it quickly extinguishes Laura's romantic candlelight dinner.

Gail fears what the tests for Rita Lawson might reveal about her condition. For Laura Denham, one career ends, and after Helen helps her launch another one, Brian reacts passionately to the news. Toby Denham makes an unusual request regarding his future. An enraged Dr. Shaw demands the immediate dismissal of one of the young doctors.

The Albert Memorial staff attempt to identify a young beating victim brought into casualty, and Jill wonders if Dennis knows him. A grateful Edna gets to know Abbie. Abbie dismisses a dizzy spell as the side effects of jet lag. Dennis appears to recognize a photograph at the Gordon home but nervously refuses to explain.

Dennis confronts Bob, and Jill overhears. Gail faces Denham over the Lawson case. Jim receives the cold shoulder from Gail. Jill forces Dennis to explain everything, but she doesn't like what she hears. Helen tries to intercede when Craig's invitation further drives a wedge between the Denhams.

Greg faces a young doctor's worst nightmare when a non-communicative patient is brought into casualty after being thrown from a moving car. As Laura prepares to leave Sydney with their son, she and Brian come to an understanding regarding their fragile marriage. JoJo attempts to help Greg, while a jealous Denham continues a seemingly personal vendetta. Helen makes a discovery about Roger.

Abbie persuades Steele to avoid his responsibilities in casualty, and her behavior becomes more erratic. Jill explains the situation with her brother to Gail, who offers a different point of view. A woman turns up at Bunny's looking for Mr. Howard, and her relationship to the family is a surprise. JoJo finds it difficult to believe a young doctor's claim of being a changed man.

Julie's comments about her social interactions irritate JoJo. Helen not so subtly warns an intern away from Brian Denham. A young doctor is missing, but two staff members know his whereabouts, and one might tell. Shaw becomes more indebted to Denham, while Dennis overhears the reason why.

Dennis offers to do a favor for Dr. Shaw, but the odds are heavily in favor of them both getting into bigger debt. Rosalie's presence annoys Edna and creates a tremendous strain on her business partnership with Bunny. Dr. Steele continues to reflect upon his relationship with Abbie.

Contractor Paul Bennett's attitude puts a smile on Edna's face. Denham bristles when he sees Gail having an intimate moment with a young doctor. Sister Scott worries where her friendship with Les is headed. After hearing what Denham plans for Laura, Craig attempts a diplomatic intervention, but his good intentions backfire.

Jim and Maureen consider altering Rosalie's plans for something much more simple. JoJo's careful scheme for Julie is in danger of falling apart, so she instigates a makeover. Later, the evening takes a very unexpected turn for two of the foursome.

JoJo is concerned about the events of the previous evening. Craig accidentally spoils a budding romance. Wedding pressures push Bunny and others to the breaking point. Happiness is finally on the horizon for one very deserving person at Albert Memorial, but is it attainable?

An invitation by one of the doctors thrills JoJo, but cynical toward men, Julie issues her a sober warning. Sister Scott tearfully admits to Helen an inability to love a man properly.

Pious Dr. Collier disapproves of divorce and JoJo's invitation to the surgeon's club dinner. Craig explains to JoJo what happened between Greg and Julie. Helen reveals Scotty's problem to Craig. Scotty agrees to meet Craig at Bunny's, where he makes her a very tempting offer.

Edna worries about the financial strain Rosalie is putting on Bunny. Julie's nursing friend Kelly Jones begins work at Albert Memorial and thinks she recognizes another familiar face which she can't quite place. JoJo gets bad news regarding the surgeon's club dinner. As the hospital prepares for the arrival of millionaire Philip Winter, his assistant Hilary Templeton rejects one of the staff nurses. Ada begins to exhibit odd behavior.

Julie informs JoJo who will be taking her place at the surgeon's club dinner. JoJo has a word with Ada about her unusual behavior. Bunny and Edna are summoned to Denham's office for a mysterious meeting. Gail experiences a dizzy spell, and later, a much more serious medical crisis occurs elsewhere.

The staff in casualty work frantically to save a familiar face. Dr. Shaw tires of Philip Winter's lack of consideration, resulting in a battle with Hilary Templeton and an enormous loss to Albert Memorial. Jill makes a serious mistake in her honesty with Dr. Steele. Brian announces devastating news.

A tragedy helps Denham realize he and Laura need to make a decision about their marriage. Dr. Steele reports Ada's increasingly strange behavior. The arrival of wealthy tennis star Philip Winter creates tension within the staff as Winter callously rejects his assigned nurse. Feeling he's made a fool of her, JoJo refuses to cooperate with a doctor.

Paul Bennett offers Edna unexpected help. Kelly is willing to submit to Philip Winter's demands but only if he meets one of her own. The Denham marriage rests on a dinner between Brian and Laura. An ambulance arrives at the Albert, transporting one of its injured staff members.

One of the Albert Memorial staff becomes a patient after being hit by a truck. A patron at Bunny's introduces herself as Julie's sister, but everything is not quite as it appears to be. Gail chastises Julie about her treatment of Greg. Dr. Steele has two women on his mind: Jill and Abbie.

After meeting with Dot, Julie attempts to get a sizable advance on her hospital pay. Jill is confused by Dr. Steele's intentions toward her. Helen worries about Jill's continued contact with a former lover. A guardian angel intercedes on Julie's behalf but without her knowledge.
