Zakk Sabbath, the Black Sabbath tribute band fronted by guitarist-singer Zakk Wylde, have announced a new double album, Doomed Forever Forever Doomed.
The double LP arrives March 1st and will see Wylde, bassist Rob “Blasko” Nicholson, and drummer Joey “C” Castillo taking on two seminal ’70s Sabbath albums: 1970’s Paranoid on the first disc (“Doomed Forever”), and 1971’s Master of Reality on the second (“Forever Doomed”). It continues the band’s sequential journey through the Sabbath catalog that began with 2020’s Vertigo — a track-by-track run-through of Black Sabbath’s self-titled debut.
Doomed Forever Forever Doomed was recorded at The Black Vatican and Clear Lake Audio with engineers Jay Ruston and Adam Fuller behind the board. Wylde produced the sessions.
The album’s announcement comes a week before Zakk Sabbath hit the road for a North American tour that runs through mid-January. The trek kicks off December 5th in Sacramento, California,...

ScreenDaily announced at the end of August that Uncork’d have picked up North American rights for Patrico Valladares' horror flick Embryo. ...a couple camping in the woods whose trip takes a turn for the worse when the woman is abducted and impregnated by aliens. After Evelyn develops a taste for humans and attacks a doctor, the couple flee for the big city in the hope of expelling the force that has taken over Evelyn’s body. We shared some of the first images from this new project from Valladares back in 2018 when production began. He was in the final stages, nearly finished when the global pandemic hit, so Valladares had to get creative when Chile went into...

Just in time for Black Friday―and the holiday season in general―comes a booster pack for a new character called "The Sleigher" for the Mixtape Massacre game. Also in today's : A Feast of Man DVD and digital debut and details on the new director for Witchula.
Details on Mixtape Massacre's New The Sleigher Booster Pack: "'Rotten! Rotten souls, all of them,” a voice kept whispering to Bruce as he sat there in his Santa outfit awaiting the excited children of Tall Oaks Mall. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t shake this feeling something was coming over him. As the kids came and went, the voice got louder and louder. Suddenly a local girl screamed, “Look! Santa has horns!” It was too late. Bruce was gone and in his place, was something feral…

Blood Window, Argentina’s rapidly growing Latin American genre film market, part of Buenos Aires’ Ventana Sur meet-mart, will hold a showcase at Cannes Festival’s Cannes Film Market from March 11 – 14.
Seven works in progress, currently in post-production, will be presented as part of Upcoming Fantastic Films, where ten-minute clips will accompany the presentations. Three finished films will also screen, aimed at representing the best of recent genre Latin American genre filmmaking, with two more participating in the Market Screenings.
Although Blood Window’s beginnings are steeped in blood and gore, the current body of films representing the market goes far beyond the traditional slasher flicks Latin America has nearly perfected, with films of fantasy, science fiction and a slew of different thrillers now participating – an indication of the festival’s maturation and growth.

If there is one thing that you cannot blame Chilean director Patricio Valladares of being, it is being lazy. Valladares is hard at work on creating a new Sci-fi/Horror mini series called Embryo, plugging away at the pilot. He has sent over a trio of images for us to share with you, which you will find below. Embryo is a deliriously twisted tale of alien insemination, cannibalism and love that tells the story of Kevin and his girlfriend Evelyn, who, while camping out in the woods in the Chile countryside is abducted and impregnated by otherworldly beings. As the entity inside her begins to grow at a rapid rate, Evelyn discovers that the cravings she’s experiencing can only be satiated by the taste of...

Rock Hudson was in the midst of a successful multi-season run as the lead in television series McMillan and Wife when his co-star Susan St. James left the show. Perhaps sensing the writing on the wall -- the show would last only one more season -- Hudson took the starring role in 1976's Embryo, a thriller with science fiction and horror elements. Click through the picture below to read more about the movie and see all the images in the gallery....

I find it surprising that some people were surprised when the fact that Rock Hudson was gay was publicly revealed back in the mid-1980s, as the actor became the best-known person with AIDS in the world. After all, even my mother knew about that. Anyhow, today's jaded crowd, looking at the above photograph, will surely assert that it's so obvious that Rock Hudson was gay. Just look at him! I thoroughly disagree. In fact, I don't see anything "obvious" about Hudson's sexual orientation in the photo. And no, I'm not blind. The guy just looks like a man — gay, straight, anything in between — doing his best to appear classy, or at least what used to pass for classy. Personally, I don't find Hudson very convincing as a "classy" type à la Cary Grant. Whatever his sexual predilections, I've always found Rock Hudson much more believable in rugged roles, such...

In 1970, the Vietnam War had already dragged on for nearly a decade. Filmmakers, like society in general, were making their opinions about the war known. The great anti-war films M*A*S*H and Catch 22 were released that year and, though not set in Vietnam, made bold satirical use of past wars to make their points. However, that same year brought us another anti-war film somewhat overshadowed by those two classics, Hornet’S Nest, starring none other than Rock Hudson. Like some surrealistic cross between John Wayne’s The Cowboys and the original Inglorious Bastards (both of which it predated), Hornet’S Nest is notable for several reasons: it was the final Hollywood film of European screen star Sylva Koscina, it was one of director Phil Karlson’s last movies, and it was the film debut of Hudson’s trademark mustache! However, it is Not notable for being on DVD.

U.S. And Canada/Opening Wide Get Him to the Greek: Rock stars (ie, Russell Brand) are a mess, and the normal people who are their fans (ie, Jonah Hill) are only slightly less a mess. Such is the plight of humanity. If you can’t make it to the multiplex, try: • Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008): Which introduced Russell Brand’s rock star Aldous Snow. Though you should fast-forward to his bits -- which are few -- and skip the rest. • This Is Spinal Tap (1984): For the best, funniest movie ever about idiot, overprivileged rock stars. • Almost Famous (2000): Because its naif peasant (Patrick Fugit) among rock royalty (Billy Crudup, et al) is a lot more sympathetic than Jonah Hill’s. • My Favorite Year (1982): It’s not about rock music but about television, and how a young writer’s (Mark Linn-Baker) encounter with a famous star (Peter...
