The Morometii saga started in the fields and ended in the communist bureaucracy.
If the first book - Morometii movie from 1988 (probably a 8+ movie), is a real good image of the way the life was in the between great wars era, covering life, family, politics, work, religion, than we can see a diverting development towards communists ideals of the life in the second book.
This covers the third and final book, which sends the story in an empty life between the village and city, with no soul and re-negation of religion of every kind.
If the book is still of some interest, the movie is badly arranged on the book with loose ends and bad acting.
See it only if you are a fan of Marin Preda's works.
