The only Batman TV or film adaptation in which Alfred does not make at least one single appearance.
The Riddler was shown in the opening credits but never appeared in any of the episodes. This was because Hanna-Barbera Productions held the rights to use The Riddler, Scarecrow, and Solomon Grundy for Super Friends (1973).
Due to recently enacted standards regarding children's television, the Penguin was not depicted with his trade mark cigarette.
The series aired at the same time as Super Friends (1973) which featured Batman and Robin as main characters. Super Friends (1973) was produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions and aired on American Broadcasting Company (ABC). This marks perhaps the only time in which a character was featured regularly on two different animated series at the same time, with each show produced by different companies and airing on rival networks.
The series featured both existing/traditional Batman villains, along with others created exclusively for the series. The new villains included Professor Bubbles, Sweet Tooth, Moon Man, Zarbor, Electro and The Chameleon (the latter two not to be confused with the Spider-Man villains of the same name). In addition, the series marked the first appearance of Clayface outside of the Batman comics.
