This was the first of several TV mini-series produced and syndicated by Operation Prime Time. The 6-hour, three-night series debut the month of May 1977 on various independent TV stations in the U.S. WPIX (New York City) aired the series May 9, 16 and 23, 1977, while KSTW (Seattle) aired the series May 2, 9 and 16, 1977.
This miniseries was the only shared credit of Ray Milland and Joan Van Ark other than the cult classic horror film Frogs (1972) which they starred in five years earlier.
Cast members William Shatner and John de Lancie are Star Trek alum. Shatner best known for his role as Captian Kirk on the series Star Trek (1966-1969). While de Lancie would become known for his recurring role as Q in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Star Trek: Voyager.
