Ben Whishaw played James Bond’s technology and weapons expert Q in three 007 movies with Daniel Craig, joining the franchise on a high note in 2012’s acclaimed “Skyfall” and also appearing in 2015’s “Spectre” and 2021’s “No Time to Die.” The latter title marked Craig’s last Bond movie, which has Whishaw predicting that his time as Q is also over.
“I don’t think I’m going to be in the next one,” Whishaw recently told the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg about his future in the James Bond film franchise. “I think they’re going to start all over again, and with a new cast, a completely new cast. I think that’s my hunch, but I don’t know. I have no idea.”
“I think it might need a new lease of life and a whole new group of people,” he added. “But if they asked me, I would do it,...

Star Wars: The Last Jedi delivered on expectations, debuting with the second largest opening weekend of all-time and propelling the box office to the third largest weekend ever based on estimates. In an attempt at counter-programming, Fox's Ferdinand got off to a bit of a slow start against the might of Star Wars as well as the continued strong performance of Pixar's Coco as it fell below Mojo's expectations, though the studio is optimistic when it comes to the film's future. With an estimated $220 million, Star Wars: The Last Jedi delivered the second largest opening weekend ever behind only Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which debuted with $247.9 million back in 2015. Last Jedi got off to a strong start on Thursday night with the second largest preview gross ever of $45 million and became only the second film to ever gross over $100 million on opening day resulting in the second largest opening day ever,...

Muhammad Ali wasn’t much of a cook at home — but he certainly passed his love of food down to his daughter Laila.
“I don’t remember by dad ever cooking — just eating!” Laila, 39, tells People, from her kitchen in Los Angeles. “He loved soul food, so he loved the greens, the cornbread stuffing, the baked chicken.”
The Ali’s had a cook prepare all their meals, but Laila fondly thinks back to the days when she and her dad would head out for his favorite meal, a burger.

IFC’s Chuck opens in St. Louis on May 19.
He was the pride of Bayonne, New Jersey, a man who went fifteen rounds in the ring with Muhammad Ali, and the real life inspiration for Rocky Balboa. But before all that, Chuck Wepner (Liev Schreiber) was a liquor salesman and father with a modest prizefighting career whose life changed overnight when, in 1975, he was chosen to take on The Greatest in a highly publicized title match. It’s the beginning of a wild ride through the exhilarating highs and humbling lows of sudden fame—but what happens when your fifteen minutes in the spotlight are up?
Driven by a committed performance from Liev Schreiber, Chuck is a refreshingly human tale of resilience and redemption. Elisabeth Moss and Naomi Watts costar.
Wamg invites you to enter for the chance to win Two (2) seats to the advance screening of Chuck on May 18 at 7Pm in the St.

A subgenre which has had a resurgence in the past few years in the boxing drama. Following Creed, Southpaw, Hands of Stone, and Bleed for This, another will arrive this year with Chuck, once titled The Bleeder when it premiered at Venice International Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival last fall. The latest drama from Philippe Falardeau (Monsieur Lazhar, The Good Lie) stars Liev Schreiber, Elisabeth Moss, and Naomi Watts and follows the life of New Jersey boxer Chuck Wepner who was the inspiration behind Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky character. Ahead of a release this May, IFC Films have now released the first trailer.

In the words of Linda Creed, as sung by Whitney Houston, "I believe the children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way..."
The importance of the children remaining on the world grew on Colony Season 2 Episode 3 as we watched three people without them disappear into a splatter of goo instantaneously.
While Will and Charlie weren't making their escape from outside the wall (that's confusing), Colony was trying to throw us for a loop by making us think about gray areas again.
There is nothing more fun than a) having no idea what's going on (as I felt during Colony Season 2 Episode 2) and b) being forced to think of all the available alternatives of any given situation.
Colony truly excels at both. Not only have we been in the dark about the nature of the invaders and their purpose since the story began, as well as...

As a way to honor legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, who passed away this past Friday night, Deadline reports that Sony Pictures is rereleasing Michael Mann's 2001 film Ali in "a few hundred theaters nationwide" this weekend. Will Smith gave a towering, titanic, transformative performance as the title character, and the movie tracks his exploits in and out of the ring during the ten year period from 1964 to 1974.
“With the passing of Muhammad Ali, we have received many requests for this film to return to theaters, in celebration of his life,” said Rory Bruer, president of Worldwide Distribution for Sony Pictures. “The film truly honors everything that made Ali one of the central figures of our time, a man who commanded his sport but whose personal faith and principles made him mean so much more. Muhammad Ali truly was The Greatest, and this tribute is a great way to honor him.

In naming our favorite boxing movies last fall, we said, “Michael Mann‘s epic portrait of Muhammad Ali marvelously depicts the champ and the cultural upheaval surrounding his storied and controversial career,” adding that, “Ali is a thoughtful and aesthetically flawless picture, which succeeds in conveying the harrowing emotions the People’s Champion felt inside and outside of the ring.” Following the passing of the legendary boxer last weekend, Sony has announced the film will be returning to a few hundred theaters this weekend. While we lament some aspects of digital distribution, consider this a check in the positive column.

I had a close friend and brother-in-arms named Larry Schlam, an attorney who specialized in juvenile rights. He later became a law professor and a lecturer on that same issue. He had been a doo-wop singer in Brooklyn, but that has no relevance to this topic. As it comes to us all, Larry died last year.
Back in 1971 or 1972, I was with Larry at his office in downtown Chicago. We were working late – to the extent that we were actually working – and I left around 10 Pm. As I walked towards the elevators, I saw one about to close and, like many late-evening neurotics, I was convinced that was the last elevator for the night. I shouted “Please hold the elevator!” and a giant mitt popped out to hold the door open. I trotted into the booth, turned to thank my benefactor, and found myself face-to-face with Muhammad Ali.

"Out of our sorrow came a beautiful thought, that we were solidified," Ali's daughter, Hana Ali, recalls. "From the time we were little, dad always brought us together with our stepmother. He'd sit us down and say, 'You have different mothers, but you are sisters. and I want you all to come together and love each other.' " The boxing legend died on Friday at a hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, where he had spent the past few...

In the wake of Muhammad Ali's tragic death, the world has begun to mourn. Shortly after the athlete passed, his children and grandchildren posted tributes celebrating his life. Now, President Obama has released an official statement eulogizing the boxing legend. We'd try to summarize his words, but we really wouldn't be able to do it justice. Read the statement in full below. Muhammad Ali was The Greatest. Period. If you just asked him, he'd tell you. He'd tell you he was the double greatest; that he'd "handcuffed lightning, thrown thunder into jail." But what made The Champ the greatest – what truly separated him from everyone else – is that everyone else would tell you pretty much the same thing. Like everyone else on the planet, Michelle and I mourn his passing. But we're also grateful to God for how fortunate we are to have known him, if just for a...

To say Muhammad Ali, who died on Friday at the age of 74, had a way with words is something of an understatement. His press conferences and interviews redefined the way people saw boxers - and to a larger extent, professional athletes in general - and made sportswriters everywhere reconsider their own turns of phrase. Although his voice was eventually silenced by his battle with Parkinson's disease, Ali was as known for the comical insults he dished to opponents as he was for the self-aggrandizing brags he tossed out about himself, he was also a fiercely intelligent and introspective man.
