NBC gave Jack Albertson a contract for thirteen episodes with an option to pick up thirteen more. Even though the rating were high the first two weeks, by the sixth episode it was apparent that the show was losing viewers and after thirteen shows it would be canceled. After the 10 episode, which was the lowest for any NBC sitcom, they canceled the series. Since episode 11 had been filmed they paid Jack Albertson for two shows never completed to fulfill the contract.
Actors include Roger Bowen (Col. Henry Blake in the movie "MASH") and Larry Linville (Maj. Frank Burns in the TV show "M*A*S*H").
