The normal-gauge part of the railway station serving as the filming location had already been closed for half a year at the time of filming, the tracks were taken up shortly after the filming of the film, but the narrow-gauge railway is still in operation today. Nowdays, there is a small railway history exhibition in the station building, which also commemorates the film.
The film was shot in Almamellék, which is located in southwestern Hungary along the now defunct Kaposvár - Szigetvár railway line, but in the film the village was moved next to the Budapest - Gyõr - Vienna railway line in the northwestern part of Hungary.
