Despite reasonably good Neilsen numbers (26th for its "first season") this was canceled by CBS, then "morphed" into The Stockard Channing Show, with a completely replaced supporting cast, but a similar premise. Viewers noted that the set of Channing's apartment was the same for both series. At the end of its "second season," the revamped version was also canceled.
