Long before reality shows began their attack on our lives, Srdjan Karanovic made this movie. In it we can see how TV can trivialize any idea and ruin anything original. A lot of disappointment with the movie industry can be seen too.
Later on, Karanovic established himself as one of the best Serbian/Yugoslav directors (with "Petrijin venac", "Nesto izmedju", Virdzina...) but this was (I believe) his first great movie. However, many well-known Serbian actors are here (Ljuba Tadic, Aleksandar Bercek, Bogdan Diklic) and not so well-known ones provide very nice portraits of simple, non-educated folks.
Let me also point out that the movie shared the FIPRESCI award with Wajda's "Man of marble".
I must say, however, that if you are only looking for some fun, you may find this movie boring; but if you want a movie that will make you think, try this one out... if you can find it.

The movies that carries a powerful message about life freedom and its anticipation from different aspects and social groups. Even filmed 40 years a go, it precisely aims the crucial questions of now days man, swamped in cruel consumerism world with little hope left for individual's happiness and joyful life. Must see.
