Although it premiered in New York over a month after her other breakthrough feature From Holly with Love (1978), director Carter Stevens has claimed in an interview that The Love Couch was Beth Anna's first credited screen role.
One-sheet, press book and film's head credits all bear a 1977 declaration of copyright.
The 2011 Carter Stevens triple feature box set that includes The Love Couch has restored the dope-smoking and drug-related dialogue missing in the 1987 VHS release of the film. Unfortunately, part of the Fluffy La Busche / Peter Andrews scene is still missing.
The voice of the couch was done by a voice-over actress who specialized in narrating TV commercials.
