- Cesare Danova reprised the characteristics of organized crime boss Giovanni Cappa five years later in National Lampoon's Animal House (1978), as Mayor Carmine DePasto. Although the role in Animal House was humorous, Danova's Mayor DePasto maintained a sinister personality and he delivered his lines with the same menace he did with the character of Giovanni Cappa in Mean Streets.
