Taylor Swift is the odds-on favorite to make history with an Album of the Year victory for “Midnights.” It would be her fourth win in the category following victories for “Fearless,” “1989” and “Folklore.” That would set a new record for the most Album of the Year wins for any recording artist ever, breaking Swift’s tie with Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Paul Simon. But she’s only tipped to win two other categories out of her six total nominations: Best Pop Vocal Album for “Midnights...

A day after Universal Music Group threatened to stop licensing its music to TikTok amid a breakdown in deal negotiations, songs from Umg’s unparalleled stable of artists began vanishing from the social media platform late Wednesday.
The removals started gradually late Wednesday evening. The official versions of Umg-owned recordings such as Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer,” Olivia Rodrigo’s “Get Him Back,” and Lana Del Rey’s “Let the Light In” were no longer appearing in search results. Meanwhile, videos featuring Umg songs — such as a Kylie Jenner post...

Many of the defining hits of the past 25 years have been Beyoncé songs. She’s reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 a total of eight times as a solo artist. Despite this, some of her No. 1 singles have been much more impressive than others.
Beyoncé | Kevin Winter / Staff 8. ‘Check On It’
“Check on It” is a song about sexual teasing. That’s not really a subject matter that flies today, but the tune might be more tolerable if it had a better beat. The production here sounds like nothing and Slim Thug’s verses don’t add any extra spice to the track. Regardless, Queen B’s star power brought this to the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
7. ‘Savage’
Beyoncé and Meghan Thee Stallion is a wining combination in theory. In practice, the beat of “Savage” sounds like an unfinished demo so all the effort both artists bring to the lyrics feels a little wasted.

Hey, "Tough As Nails" fans. Tonight, February 1, 2023, another new episode of Tough As Nails' current season 4 did hit the air, and we saw another unlucky contestant lose their shot at winning the individual competition grand prize of 200,000 dollars and a new Ford F-150 truck. Tonight's episode kicked off with the team challenge for this episode. In this one, they had to cut pieces out of 7 containers that are due to be set up as mini apartment units. Mister was made crew boss for the Savage Crew team, and Aly was crew boss for the Dirty Hands team for this challenge. During this challenge, things were not looking good for the Savage crew team at one point because they ran into an issue with one of their grinders. It was so serious of an issue that Larron told the private cams that it could cost them the win. However, they did...

Fantastic Fest 2018 is now about a month away, so it's time for the second wave of programming, which includes the North American premiere of Timo Tjahjanto's May the Devil Take You and the U.S. premieres of David Gordon Green's Halloween and Jeremy Saulnier's Hold the Dark. I'm probably most curious, though, about the world premieres in this round, including Bloodline, The Boat, Feral, Girls With Balls, Savage and Starfish. Will they emerge as unexpected discoveries in the midst of genre goodness from better-known filmmakers? Or disappear into the night? I hope for the former, but we shall see. The festival will be held in Austin, Texas, from September 20-27. Visit the official site for more information. Below is a list of the films in...

Curtis is expected to be attendance along with producers Malek Akkad, Jason Blum and Bill Block. She is returning to play the iconic Laurie Strode in the “Halloween” franchise. Universal Pictures will open the film on Oct. 19.
Curtis’ character will have a final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago. David Gordon Green is directing from a script he co-wrote with Danny McBride.

Susan Lacy's documentary Spielberg debuts October 7th on HBO, trots out an all-star team of interviewees – from film critics to famous friends, the Toms (Cruise and Hanks) to God herself, a.k.a. The voices film buffs will undoubtedly want to hear from the most, however, belong to his fellow "movie brats": Francis Ford Coppola, Brian De Palma, George Lucas and Martin Scorsese, who all talk at length about their heady New Hollywood days alongside Spielberg in the early Seventies. All of them partied together, bounced...

We’ve taken a pen to the UK Christmas TV and radio schedules and circled the shows we’re looking forward to. Add yours below!
Amid the cosy repeats, big movies and inescapable cranberry-stuffed cookery shows on TV this month are a few original gems. Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton’s Inside No. 9 festive special The Devil Of Christmas (Tuesday the 27th of December, 10pm, BBC Two) is top of our must-watch list. Hot on its heels is Yonderland’s family friendly Yonder Yuletide (Saturday the 24th of December, 6.30pm, Sky One). Another for families on Sky is the Christmas Day Jasper Fforde adaptation The Last Dragonslayer, while Channel 4 has the non-festive-but-essential-for-fans-of smart-sci-fi Humans series two finale (Sunday the 18th of December, 9pm).

Tonight's episode, kicked off with conversation footage. Andrew talked to Jeremy about possibly voting off Ciera or Kelly Wentworth. Meanwhile, Ciera suggested to Steven Fishbach that they vote out Joe. From there, they showed Rewards Challenge footage. It was a crate stacking challenge. They were split into two teams for this. And Keith, Ciera, Wiglesworth, Wentworth, Joe and Kimmi's team won it for a sweet goodies at Survivor Cafe prize. Next, Steven tried to suggested to Andrew that Joe get voted out after worrying he was bonding with an alliance. Andrew didn't seem too convinced. After all that, they showed Immunity Challenge footage. It was an endurance challenge where they had to balance a ball on a disk, and Joe pulled out the win for a 2nd consecutive time! Steven's name came up as a target from Joe after finding out Steven was plotting to get him voted out.

Island #1 Review – Image Comics
I lived in Europe for half of my life, and my entire life I’ve lived on the coast. For some of that life I listened to podcasts or read articles about comics in europe and how they and creators are viewed in comparison as an ideal to the United States, as if comics were a common sighting and comfortably excepted, a part of the passive everyday culture like film, music, or coffee.
I cannot speak from a creator’s point of view, but from my experience as a resident of some dozen years, that was never true. I don’t think I ever saw a comic in my time in Italy, France, or Spain unless, much like in the U.S., I entered an establishment that was comic book specific. In fact, at the time, the last time I had lived in the U.S you could find comics everywhere,...

DC doesn't have the greatest track record with their cinematic endeavors, but when it comes to television, they've had some amazing hits. However, outside of animation, they didn't really branch out to many of their second tier heroes until Smallville hit the air. We were then introduced to not only the young Clark Kent, but eventually Green Arrow, Cyborg, Aquaman, Impulse and many other heroes before its ten year run ended. A year and a half later, producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg brought us Arrow, starring Steven Amell as Oliver Queen in a darker, grittier take on the hero (which has borrowed more than a little from the Batman comics), who has returned home to find that his city has been run down by corrupt politicians and a seedy criminal element. Taking on the guise of Arrow, he sets out on his own to take his city back, only...

Hey, it's the "Jurassic Park" kid, all grown up!
Okay, that's not fair. Joseph Mazzello has appeared in some pretty notable projects since running from dinosaurs in Steven Spielberg's sci-fi thriller, including "The Pacific" and "The Social Network." It's not like he's been missing since 1993 or anything.
Nor will he start disappearing any time soon, as he's set to trade dinosaurs for snakes in the role of Mouse in "G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes," according to Deadline.
Wait a minute... who in the heck is Mouse?
The hardest of the hardcore "Joe" fans will remember Mouse as a member of "Sgt. Savage and His Screaming Eagles," a short-lived spin-off toyline released in the mid-'90s. Sgt. Savage was a WWII hero who was frozen and then re-awakened in the present day (sound familiar?), where he joins the Joes and is assigned his own splinter team, the Screaming Eagles.

Robert here. For many of us being a soldier is an experience we'll only get vicariously courtesy of the movies. In honor of Veteran's Day, I thought I'd share some of my favorite portrayals of American soldiers. They aren't always the most famous actors or the biggest roles, but they've made impressions. If you've not seen any of the particular films listed and don't want to know who lives or dies, you may want to skip to the next entry.
General George S. Patton played by George C. Scott in Patton (1970)Starting off with a big one. Patton is such a towering figure in American History and Scott's Oscar winning portrayal gives us an understanding of the man who often found himself caught in a place between his own talents and the stern hand he felt was needed and the more careful policies of those he served.

The summer of 1985. Has it really been twenty-five years. Wow! I don't really feel old, but its amazing that era was so long ago and yet the memories feel like yesterday. I was ten going on eleven and enjoying my summer break. Though my parents wouldn't let me leave my neighborhood with my friends, they always took me to the cinema as often as they could, which is where my love of movies comes from. I consider myself fortunate to have shared some great movie moments with my family and with my parents coming to town to visit me this summer, we hope to have some more.Hollywood still makes great movies today, but the eighties were a time when most of the movies you saw were good. At least they seemed to be good at that early age. Time can often be cruel and with maturity comes the revelation...

Can you hear that ominous music as you enjoy the ocean? It seems to always accompany the approach of a—oops! Chomp!—Great White Shark, just out cruisin’ for a bite. And who’s that out there chummin’ the waters but our longtime correspondent Pat Jankiewicz? He has spent Years working on the definitive examination of Steven Spielberg’s Jaws and its sequels and the result is Just When You Thought It Was Safe: A Jaws Companion (BearManor Media, tpb, $19.95). It offers all you might ever want to know about those shark thrillers (including the unmade sequel spoof National Lampoon’S Jaws 3, People 0). Jaws screenwriter Carl Gottlieb (himself the author of the behind-the-scenes memoir The Jaws Log) says, “Pat got it Exactly right!” You can’t get a better recommendation than that! We’re proud to see that Jankiewicz has finished his dream project. And in case you haven’t noticed,...
