Amusing and entertaining Spanish film with the popular singer Manolo Escobar who steals the show with his sympathy and catching songs . Here he plays a kind and swindler gipsy . It starts in Marsella when the jeaolus husband Rufino : Jose Guardiola meets his wife Pilar and her lover , then he kills him and injures his wife . Later on , the spouse is about to die and there appears her cousin Manolo who promises to give her two children to her relative widow Maria: Sara Lezana who lives in Ajaccio , Corcega, with her two children . After that , Manolo arrives in Ajaccio where was born Napoleón. He is accompanied by his two nephews and pal guitarist Domínguez: Antonio Garisa, they join to live at Maria's home and her two children . Learning the French state gives 10.000 Francos per child , they pose as a marriage to swindle government in 40.000 Francos . Then they get married again , on and on until 26 fictitious weddings to take a huge fortune .
This is a fun and joyful musical comedy with usual ingredients as humor , songs , musical numbers and flamenco dancing in charge of Sara Lezana . This is an attractive Manolo Escobar comedy in his usual style with plenty of charming songs . A nice tale proceeded in interesting manner , well paced , simple and plain with a slight intrigue about a swindle to French State and a revenger gipsy who wishes reckoning with Manolo Escobar. Finely starred by Manolo Escobar who began his long career in show business between Badalona and Barcelona , in the Red light district currently known as El Raval with the group called : "Manolo Escobar and his Guitarras" , the last ones were his brothers who shared and helped him in his musical trajectory. In 1962 , Manolo rose to fame with his feature debut : "Los Guerrilleros" by Pedro L Ramírez. From now on , he played a lot of films in which performing several songs , such as : "Me has hecho perder el juicio , Entre dos amores , Me debes un muerto , En un lugar de la Manga , Juicio de Faldas , Relaciones casi públicas, El Padre Manolo , Un Beso en el Puerto , Todo es posible en Granada , Pero en que país vivimos , La mujer es un buen negocio, Donde estará mi niño" , among others . And achieveing the greatest musical hits as his main recording : Que Viva España , it sold estimated 6 million copies .
In "Cuando los niños vienen de Marsella" Manolo performs some catching songs as : "Me voy pero no me voy , No te pongas colora , Anton Anton , Ay Caridad , Tengo lo que quiero, La niña de fuego , Soy un pobre presidiario" . Here Manolo Escobar and his beautiful partenaire Sara Lezana are very well assisted by a fine support cast with plenty of familiar faces such as : Antonio Garisa , Tina Sainz , Jose Guardiola , Luis Varela , Xan Das Bolas , Fernando Sánchez Polack, Jose Franco , Jose Riesgo, Florinda Chico , Josele Roman, among others . The motion picture was professionally directed by veteran Jose Luis Saenz De Heredia who also does a brief appearance or cameo . Jose Luis Saenz De Heredia was a controversias figure in Spain because of his unabashed and strong support to dictator Francisco Franco . Heredia made a great number of films : dramas and especially comedies . He was a writer and director known for the comedies : Historias de la Radio, Faustina , Se armo el Belen ! , El Taxi de los Conflictos , La Verbena de la Paloma , Los Derechos de la Mujer , Todo es Posible en Granada and the nice Dramas : Mariona Rebull , El Escándalo, Las Aguas Bajan Negras , Diez Fusiles Esperan, Los Ojos dejan Huellas, Don Juan, El indulto , La Mies es mucha , Franco ese hombre and Raza (1942) whose screenwriter was Francisco Franco himself .
