I will never understand how he got a spinoff, Grady was NOT a funny character in Sanford and Son, there were at least 4 other characters who deserved a spin off over him. The family seemed so off and mismatched. The kids all felt like they are reading off cue cards and the husband always felt creepy and weird.. Why are you brining teenagers to your home to stretch? Gradys jokes never landed and they seemed to make him dumber... Somehow. After season 4 of Sanford and Son the show started to fade... And Grady just seemed like a desperate shot to reinject interest in a dying show (I mean besides Sanford and then Sanford Arms πππ)
