Elder brother Raj Kapoor did a movie of the same name 16 years earlier. Great-niece Karisma Kapoor would star in a movie of the same name 18 years later.
A qawalli song of Shashi Kapoor was edited out of the film .Feeling the song did not gel with the film the director opted to remove it The song was also a part of the original soundtrack. Years later a long delayed Vinod Mehra film Kaun Hai Khooni ( Woh Mili Thi) used the deleted song in their film. Thus Shashi Kapoor made a special appearance in that film.
