Official submission of Argentina for the 'Best Foreign Language Film' category of the 55th Academy Awards in 1983.

The two scenes in which Marcos Woinski delivers the money in the mailbox were not scripted. In the original screenplay there was only one delivery scene and it took place on a parking lot, with Mendizabal (Federico Luppi) behind the wheel of his car, and the delivery guy throwing the envelope in his car. The original ending (in the original screenplay)was supposed to be only the close shot of the curtain in Mendizabal's room with the three cigarette burns. And the ending seen in the film (the one with Kulpe picking up his money from the mailbox) was scripted at the last minute and filmed right after the Mendizabal Pick up.
