When Pug and Pam dine at the Savoy, a wine bottle appears on the table and all the wine glasses suddenly fill between shots. [Part 4, Scene 7, time index 51:47]

When Slote examines Jastrow's immigration papers, the papers jump from his left to right hands between shots. [Part 4, Scene 2, time index 8:38]

As Pug and Palmer talk before dinner, Pug is holding his drink with one hand, then with both between shots; a moment later, Palmer is holding his with his left hand, then suddenly is sipping it, then repeats. [Part 6, Scene 9, time index 1:30:24 and 1:31:15]

In the final scenes, Capt. Henry drives the 1940 Lincoln Continental up to the non-existent cliff (previous entry) and stops the car on a dirt road with the wheels straight forward. He then gets out of the car. In the last helicopter shot of Henry and the car, the Lincoln is now off the dirt road, in soft soil and the front wheels are turned to the right.

When Natalie and Aaron go to the Coliseum, Natalie has her arm under Aaron's, then as Rabinowitz approaches, in a rear shot they're suddenly standing apart. [Part 7, Scene 7, time index 1:11:51]

The British began bombing German cities in May 1940, four months before the London Blitz started.

In many episodes of Winds of War, we see many Royal Navy Officer's and Ratings sporting a moustache, NO Royal Naval Officer or Rating would ever have just a moustache, a Royal Navy Officer may sport a Van Dyke, even a full beard, but no Officer or Rating would ever just have a moustache.

When Commander Henry is assigned to convoy duty, he is seen on the bridge with other officers and sailors, all wearing talkers helmets. Only talkers wore them (this type of helmet allows the wearer to use earphones). Everyone else should have been wearing regular helmets.

During the scene where Captain Henry flies in the RAF bombing raid on Berlin, the aircrew keep calling him 'Admiral' as they were mistakenly told he was an Admiral at the briefing. Even if this had taken place, all officers are addressed as 'Sir' by ranks junior in the RAF. They would have addressed him as 'Sir' not 'Admiral'.

During the Battle of Britain scenes, Air Chief Marshal Dowding (Head of Fighter Command) is incorrectly referred to twice as 'Air Vice Marshal'. Air Vice Marshal is 2 ranks lower than Air Chief Marshal. However, he is seen wearing correct rank insignia for Air Chief Marshal which is 1 row of broad black/blue braid, and 3 rows of medium black/blue braid around the cuffs of the uniform jacket.

As the U-boats are submerging after the convoy confrontation it is clear that the footage of the subs surfacing was simply used in reverse. You can even see the Wolf Pack Commanders sub submerging while going backwards.

When Byron and Slote walk down the sidewalk in Berlin, the sign on the gray building behind them says Gradska Stedionica (Croatian for Municipal Savings Bank), showing the scene was shot on location in Zagreb, Croatia.

The series takes place in the late 1930s. At the horse race in Italy, people are wearing Adidas shoes and 1970s clothing. Most of the women in Warsaw have 1970s and 1980s dresses and hairstyles; only Ali McGraw and other speaking characters are in period clothing. At Warren's wedding, all of the bridesmaids have late '70s/early '80s dresses and feathered hair.

The modern maple leaf Canadian flag is seen in scenes shot in London. This flag was adopted in 1965. Prior to that the Red Ensign was the flag of Canada.

Throughout the mini-series, set from 1939 - 1941, Captain Henry is shown wearing the Bronze Star Medal on his Navy uniform. The Bronze Star Medal didn't exist until 1944.

When Pug and Pam speak over the telephone in London, Pug's telephone has a modern coiled cord, not a '40's-era straight cord. [Part 4, Scene 8, time index 39:48; Part 5, Scene 2, time index 13:36]

The American Defense Service Medal is worn predominately by most of the Henry naval officers between 1939 and 1941. While the medal was authorized for service during that period, the medal itself was not created until 1942 and widespread distribution did not begin until early 1943.

When Byron and Natalie pull up to the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw, the shadow of the camera crane is visible on the stone gate.

When Pug boards the president's train in Silver Spring and is being shown to his room, the reflection of the camera crew is visible in the glass cabinet to Pug's left.

There is no cliff overlooking Pearl Harbor, as shown in the last scene.

Graphic near the beginning of Part 6 when President Roosevelt boards the train for Hyde Park New York, lists the location as "Silver Springs, Maryland". The intended city is "Silver Spring, Maryland".

When Natalie comes to Byron's room to go to Medzice, the shadow of a boom mic is visible above Byron's head, and again when they go into the hall a moment later. [Part 1, Scene 10, time index 1:39:19]

When Pug and President Roosevelt and Mrs. Roosevelt speak in the Oval Office, the shadow of a boom mic is repeatedly visible on the wall behind them. [Part 4, Scene 1, time index 2:56, 3:24, 5:10, 6:30]

When Pug speaks with Churchill, the shadow of a boom mic is visible below the picture on the wall behind Churchill. [Part 4, Scene 6, time index 49:06]

As Pug and Pam go to see the bombing of London, the shadow of a boom mic is visible in the corner of the room. [Part 4, Scene 9, time index 1:09:22.

As Stoller tries to talk Pug into spying for Germany, the reflection and shadow of a boom mic is visible on the drape behind Stoller. [Part 5, Scene 7, time index 1:08:02]

The German General Alfred Jodl is incorrectly given the rank of Field Marshal, a rank he never held. When the sequel War and Remembrance was produced, he was still given the wrong rank, but in that case it's a lower rank than it should have been, and which would have been more correct for the time period of Winds of War.
