For 31 years was the only film to ever win both an Oscar and an Emmy (it won three, in fact: two Primetime Emmys and a Daytime Emmy). It's practically impossible for a same film to win both awards because the Emmys are only given to TV productions while the Oscars are given to cinema productions. In 2015, Citizenfour (2014), another documentary, won a Primetime Emmy Award after winning the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
