About one year after this television movie aired, Jon-Erik Hexum died as a result of a freak accident on the set of a new series he was filming titled Cover Up (1984). Goofing around between takes, Hexum put a prop pistol to his head and it went off. As a result, he was declared brain-dead, and when he passed away, several of his organs, including his heart, were donated to others in need. He was only twenty-seven years old.
Jeff Conaway and Barry Pearl were both in Grease (as members of The T-Birds).
