Not as bad as the average German farce of the last 30 years, but still an indifferent, seldom really funny film, that is a kind of poor man's version of Kind Hearts and Coronets (with Alec Guinness). It is painful to see how bad most jokes are timed. The end sequence (labyrinth of mirrors) seems to be borrowed from Orson Welles' Lady from Shanghai; and as this is not used for e.g. a subtle parody, there is no excuse.
Dr. Dieter Hallervorden 'Didi' (Dr. in Romanistics) made his 2nd movie in 1984 of the New-West-German-Comedy (1970s-1989) era. The revenge of the non-heiring persons was planed with not so much intellect, but the simple gags are a sign of that time. If you enter it with a kind of funny, small humour, you won't forget ever, if you expect intellect or long arranged gags, then you should stay out.
