The official website for the Macross anime franchise revealed a newly-drawn key visual today for the upcoming concert "MacRoss 7 30th Anniv. Fire Bomber Live 2025 ~Burn! Burn! Burn!~." The first solo concert in 13 years featuring Fire Bomber , the in-show band in the Macross 7 anime series, is set to open at Tokyo's Toyosu Pit on February 21 and 22, 2025. The band's original two singers — Yoshiki Fukuyama as Basara Nekki and Chie Kajiura as Mylene Flare Jenius — will return on the stage. The three-song CD single including two solo songs by the two singers is also now available.

Cowboy Bebop is that anime that fans watch just for the vibes and music. Sure, the ending is quite emotional but the whole show itself presents a much relaxed but chaotic atmosphere that is fun for any fan of any genre. Macross: Do You Remember Love? , the Macross anime franchise's first feature film will get its 4K remaster edition Blu-ray set on January 29, 2025. As a theatrical version that reconstructed the story of Super Dimension Fortress Macross , the first TV series aired from 1982 to 1983, Macross: Do You Remember Love? was released in Japanese theaters on July 21, 1984. To commemorate the 40th anniversary of its release, the 4K remaster project has been launched. The 35mm negative film will be remastered in 4K using the latest film scanning technology. The 4K remaster set includes a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and a Blu-ray disc. Each includes the film's 1984 theatrical edition and 2016 complete edition. A special booklet featuring new interviews and a box with a newly-drawn illustration by Haruhiko Mikimoto, the character designer, will be included in the set as a bonus. After getting penciled in for a 2024 launch earlier this year, a release date has officially been confirmed for MacRoss -Shooting Insight- . Red Art Games announced plans to release the shoot 'em up on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe on December 6, 2024, with multiple physical releases available in addition to the digital version. Both the PS5 and Switch versions will be available physically in North America and Europe, but the PS4 physical version will be Europe-only. Those who opt for the Collector's Edition will get a copy of the game in an exclusive box with a Steelcase, original soundtrack CD, double-sided poster and five exclusive MacRoss collector medals. After relaunching the line in 2017, Titan paused on new Robotech comics in 2020 thanks in part to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Super Dimension Fortress Macross” created by Studio Nue, is another huge anime franchise from Japan, which has been popular since the first series aired in 1981. Also known as “Macross” and “Robotech” in its international version, it consists of four TV series, four movies, six OVAs, one light novel, and five manga series, all sponsored by Big West Advertising, in addition to 40 video games set in the Macross universe, two crossover games, and a wide variety of physical merchandise. Furthermore, it created one of the first anime idols Lynn Minmay, turning her voice actress Mari Iijima into an instant celebrity, and launching her musical career.

In 1999, a city-sized alien spacecraft crashes in South Ataria Island on Earth. Over the course of 10 years, the military organization U.N. Spacy reverse-engineers its technology and rebuilds the spacecraft, naming it the Sdf-1 Macross.

Based on the Lensman novels by E. E. Smith, “Lensman: Secret of the Lens” shares a very similar narrative to “Star Wars” (to the point that the books must have influenced Lukas when he was writing the script) but still remains very much Japanese in a number of ways.
