This was the first feature-length film Alex Cox worked on. He was the assistant director, subject matter consultant and appeared in the movie twice as Porno Stud. Right after this he directed 'Repo Man (1984)'.

Many of the songs in this film were written and performed by Kim Fields, who at the time was playing Tootie on the TV show The Facts of Life (1979).
