Amazon MGM Studios has landed I Used to Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale, a zombie feature package based on the same-name adventure-comedy short story from Adam and Daniel Cooper, aka The Cooper Twins.

The story is set in a “post-post-apocalyptic” world where former zombies struggle to reintegrate. Ryan Gosling and Jessie Henderson will produce the film under their first-look deal with the studio through recently launched banner General Admission.

When The InSneider’s Jeff Sneider broke the news of the package earlier his month, he reported that Gosling is also attached to star. We’re told that there’s no truth to the assertion, and that no casting attachments have been made. The Coopers will script the feature adaptation.

Ryan Gosling will produce the feature with Jessie Henderson, his partner at General Admission, the production banner the duo launched earlier this year. The project will fall under the company’s first-look deal with Amazon.

Twins Adam and Daniel Cooper wrote the unpublished 42-page short story and will write the script adapting their own work.

Story details are being kept hidden, but it is described as being set in a “post-post-apocalyptic” world where former zombies struggle to reintegrate. The project hit the market earlier in June.

Gosling is not attached to star in it at this stage, and there is no director on board yet.

The Oscar-nominated actor is coming off Universal’s The Fall Guy and is due to next shoot Project Hail Mary for Amazon MGM. Phil Lord and Chris Miller are directing.

Deadline recently reported that the film, which is being directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, is preparing for launch on March 20, 2026. There are currently no other big titles scheduled for that weekend. Amy Pascal, Gosling, Lord, Miller, Aditya Sood, Rachel O’Connor and Andy Weir are all on board as producers of the film. Drew Goddard wrote the adapted screenplay based on the Andy Weir novel. Weir had also written the novel for The Martian, which served as source material for the Matt Damon film of the same name. Red One was originally planned to launch on Prime Video and will now open theatrically on November 15. Over three months after being convicted of reckless assault and harassment, Jonathan Majors was sentenced this morning by a New York judge to participate a domestic violence treatment program. The one-year “in person batterers” intervention program will be in LA, where Majors is based.

Ryan Gosling and producer Jessie Henderson have launched General Admission with a three-year, first-look film deal at Amazon MGM Studios.

The co-founders said the production company will collaborate with “world-class filmmakers to create bold theatrical and streaming events within all genres – fun, transportive entertainment for everyone”.

Under the pact with Amazon MGM Studios General Admission will produce features for theatrical and streaming, some of which Gosling will star in.

Kurt Sutter’s upcoming western drama series “The Abandons” at Netflix has added six new cast members, Variety has learned.

Nick Robinson, Diana Silvers, Lucas Till, Lamar Johnson, Aisling Franciosi, and Natalia del Riego have all joined the series.

They will star alongside previously announced star Lena Headey as well as Gillian Anderson. The official description of the series states:

“As a group of diverse, outlier families pursue their Manifest Destiny in 1850s Oregon, a corrupt force of wealth and power, coveting their land, tries to force them out. These abandoned souls, the kind of lost souls living on the fringe of society, unite their tribes to form a family and fight back. Lizzo‘s legal team has filed a motion to dismiss a harassment and discrimination lawsuit made by a former “disgruntled” employee.

Back in September, the 35-year-old “Juice” singer was named in a lawsuit in a Los Angeles court by her former stylist and designer Asha Daniels, who accused Lizzo of creating “a sexualized, racially charged and illegal work environment.” She alleged that the singer doesn’t stop her management team from mistreating others who work under them.

Asha worked with Lizzo creating costumes for her dancers for her tour this year and alleged that she often worked 20-hour days without a break.

On Friday (December 15), Lizzo‘s attorney requested that the judge dismiss the lawsuit, claiming it was “meritless and salacious.”
