Indian filmmakers Rohan Sippy and Nilesh Sahay are joining forces on the holiday action comedy film “Iss Diwali.”

The film, which unfolds during the Diwali festival against a backdrop of political intrigue, is presented by industry veterans Ramesh Sippy and Zaheeda.

Rohan Sippy, known for helming “Nautanki Saala,” “Dum Maaro Dum” and “Bluffmaster,” and serving as showrunner on Netflix noir series “Aranyak,” will collaborate with Sahay, who wrote, produced and directed action film “Squad.” The project is produced by Rohan Sippy, Roopa De Choudhury, Brajesh Sahaya and Sahay via Indian Media Entertainment Network (Imen).

Casting for “Iss Diwali” is currently underway, with announcements expected in the coming months.

New Delhi, Dec 29 (Ians) Megastar Amitabh Bachchan shared an anecdote about the veteran actress Helen, and talked about how she had escaped from the Japanese occupation of Burma in 1943, during the World War 2, and came to India.

Helen is a well known dancer and is known for her character roles. Born in Rangoon, Burma (now known as Myanmar),

Helen’s family trekked to Dibrugarh, Assam in 1943 in order to escape from the Japanese occupation of Burma.

Later on, Helen got her major break at the age of 19 in 1958, when she performed on the song ‘Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu’ in the movie ‘Howrah Bridge’.

With legendary actor Shammi Kapoor, she did many hit dance numbers like ‘Suku Suku’ in ‘Junglee’, ‘Yamma Yamma’ in ‘China Town’, and ‘O Haseena Zulfonwali’ in ‘Teesri Manzil’.

A cricket bat signed by 32 Indian film legends such as Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra is to go under the hammer on Friday 29 November at the Westbury Gallery, Westbury Hotel, Mayfair. The bat has been donated by BBC Asian Network presenter Tommy Sandhu, with all the proceeds from the sale going to the charity, Children in Need.

The auction – organised by Conferro Auctions – features Vintage Bollywood Memorabilia such as original LPs, film banners and Bollywood posters from some of the milestones of Indian film history, including Mughal-e-Azam (1960) and Sholay (1975), which were recently voted the top two greatest Bollywood films of all time.

Children in Need provides grants to projects in the UK which help children and young people who are disadvantaged. They aim to empower and extend their life choices to make a real difference to the lives of children all across the UK.
