Chief Jake Newby's pipe disappears then reappears when driving Mayor Hanniger.

After miner kills Happy the Bartender, he leans over Happy and the black lens is missing from his gas mask.

In the mine, just before accidentally hitting T.J. with a board, Axel shuts the light on his helmet off. In the next several shots, the light goes from off to on and back multiple times.

As Howard stands with Sarah and Patty waiting for Hollis to return, Hollis rounds the corner after being shot with the nail gun. In the following shot, Patty raises her hands to her mouth. Yet, in the next shot, her hands are at her knees before she again raises them to her mouth as she stands.

The passenger side mirror on TJ's car is askew when Sarah gets into the car. The mirror is fine once again as they drive off.

When riding down into the mine, Howard drinks a beer. When he tips the can up, you can see holes from a church key type can opener on the bottom of the can.

The pot with the hot dogs is steaming, but when Dave gets his head dunked in the boiling water, it is not steaming.

When Mabel is being stalked in the Launderette by the killer, she screams "Get Away" whilst quite obviously mouthing "No".

During the climactic chase scene on the mine cart, the camera and cameraman can be seen in shadow.

Throughout the film the dialogue implies that it takes place in the Eastern United States. However, when the police chief and mayor are driving and discussing how they love Valentine's Day candies, they pass a building with a Canadian flag on it. In the bar, there are photographs of Cape Breton buildings and a Moosehead Beer neon sign. Moosehead is a brewing company only found in Canada.

Howard says that Harry Warden is dead, so he concludes that Harry couldn't be the killer. But, how does Howard know this? Earlier in the movie, it was revealed that neither the Chief of Police nor Harry's former mental institution knows where he is or if he is dead or alive.
