This was another one of those Hong Kong movies I've grew up with (very nostalgic), a story about Japanese corporate heiress Naomi (Yû Hayami) who visits Hong Kong and befriends a local rock band. Appreciative of the company, she helps the members with their debit issues and, in return, they help Naomi save her company from being handed over to a corrupt executive.
This is a well-paced movie with a good mixture of comedy, drama and romance - perfect for a date night or just a hangout with friends. The acting was decent and hilarious, from the touching chemistry between Alan Tam and Yu Hayami to the funny performances of Pak-Cheung Chan, Teddy Robin Kwan and Albert Au, whose slapstick and deadpan humor and funny facial expressions represents the perfect brand of Hong Kong Comedy and will give you laugh-out-loud moments.
There's also a bit of action in the film as well, in the scenes where Alan Tam takes on a band of Japanese triad members. All this coupled with an amazing race-against-time climax made this a very entertaining film and is one of my favorites from Hong Kong.
Grade A
