I watched "Zloty Pociag" (The Golden Train) with interest, and the plot quite drew me in. It is set in September 1939 at the beginning of World War II. German troops are approaching Warsaw. The command in the capital decides to transport Polish gold reserves to the West, where they can arm a new army. The transport is to be carried out by trucks, which are to reach allied Romania. From there, the cargo is to be reloaded onto a train. German saboteurs are trying to prevent the operation. The action-adventure script and plot of the film cannot be taken literally and is fiction; however, it refers to real events from World War II. I liked this action-packed movie that also avoided too much pathos. It's not often that you can get a glimpse of pre-war Romania in a film, which was also interesting to me. The film featured many popular Polish and Romanian actors. But "The Golden Train" is not the film for everyone, and you need to like World War II movies.
