Masciale gets special gig at ABC's 'GMA'
NEW YORK -- Former NBC News Today senior broadcast producer Diane Masciale has been named executive editor for special coverage at ABC's Good Morning America, the network said Wednesday.
Masciale has worked at NBC News for 13 years, as a senior broadcast producer at Today and Dateline. She now will work on planning sweeps series for "GMA" and also become executive producer for longform programming at ABC News.
She reports to Phyllis McGrady, senior vp morning, primetime and development at ABC News, and senior executive producer Jim Murphy.
A native New Yorker, she worked in California for several years as assistant general manager and program director at KCNS-TV San Francisco from 1991-93, as senior segment producer for Fox's The Reporters from 1988-91 and executive producer at KRON-TV between 1982-88. Between 1978-80 she worked as a reporter at WLOS-TV Asheville, N.C., and KRNT-KRNQ-AM Des Moines, Iowa.
