Debbie and the other women are put into balloons to keep them fresh for later in order to eat some of them, other reasons are to impregnate the girls or to turn them into female klowns as well! But it's not fully known if this is truly the case or not. It's possble the klowns may have more than one way to reproduce their race, it should at least be noted that there were two female klowns on board the spaceship.
