John Houseman was originally cast to play Dr Compton but had to back out because of illness and died a few months later.

David Strathairn would reprise his role as J Robert Oppenheimer in an episode of the PBS series, The American Experience, The Trials of J Robert Oppenheimer" which aired in 2009
