When single, New York City accountant Mollie (Kirstie Alley) becomes pregnant by her married boyfriend Albert (George Segal), Albert breaks off the relationship and Mollie is left alone to raise little Mikey (voiced by Bruce Willis). When it comes down to a question of the better father figure for Mikey, Mollie must ultimately choose between Mikey's biological father and her cab driver friend James Ubriacco (John Travolta).
The screenplay for Look Who's Talking was written by American film-maker Amy Heckerling, who also directed the movie. It was followed by two sequels: Look Who's Talking Too (1990) (1990) and Look Who's Talking Now (1993) (1993).
Two daughters: Astrid and Priscilla, aged respectively 9 and 11 years.
Mikey sees a taxi driving away from the nursing home and assumes James is driving it, so he decides to chase after James. After making his way down in the elevator, Mikey toddles into a car about to be toward away. James and Mollie see Mikey "driving" away and chase after him in James' taxi. When they catch up, however, they find Mikey standing in the middle of the street, cars whizzing past him. James grabs Mikey and safely reunites him with his mother. As Mollie checks Mikey for any cuts or bruises, he smiles at James and calls him "Da-da". Realizing that Mikey thinks of James as his "Da-da" and that he wants them to be together, Mollie sees that James really is the perfect father for Mikey as well as the perfect husband for her. The final scene takes place as the credits roll. It is a year later. Mollie and James are married. James and Mikey are visiting Mollie in the hospital where she has just given birth to baby Julie (voice of Roseanne Barr).
