Strike Commando 2 (1988) was shot simultaneously with After Death (1989) in 1988, due to both films having to require the same camera for the two separate productions, and to minimise the budget.
The film was shot deep in the Filipino jungle in a little village called Los Baños. Brent Huff stated that during the filming he was in the best shape of his life because of all the physical action on the set (Huff did his own stunts) and the food. During filming, he ate nothing but fruits and fish.
In the early draft of screenplay, Michael Ransom (Brent Huff) was tortured in many other ways. He was, for example, held in the cesspool full of pig's excrement, as well as whipped and beaten with a bamboo sticks. In the first draft of script, Ransom was interrogated for more than two weeks.
The German version of this movie, titled "Heroin Force", met with heavy censorship. Torture scenes of the main protagonist, as well as some of the scenes of his battle with opponents, were censored.
Richard Harris was cast because the producer Gaudenzi always wanted to work with him, even though Harris had to be paid $300,000 for the role. Harris brought along a large entourage and insisted on multiple takes until he felt right about his delivery, which added even more to the budget. Gaudenzi later said that casting Harris failed to get the film to break even.
