On the back of the VHS box there is a warning notice that states: "This Motion Picture is not a sequel to Witchboard."
All of the dialogue and sound effects had to be re-recorded in post-production because of a mix-up with the live sound recording during the shooting of the film.
Written and filmed as The Haunted. The title was changed by the producers in hopes that audiences would assume it was a sequel to the successful Witchboard (1986), Kevin S. Tenney's previous film.
Kevin Tenney had to step in at the last minute to play Devon Lauder because he had written the script and hence already knew the dialogue.
This movie had to be cut in order to secure an R rating from the MPAA.
