The Aztec zone was supposed to have a hot Central American climate, but the contestants' breath was visible during some earlier series, due to the show being filmed in an unheated aircraft hangar in the winter.
In one episode of series 4 a female contestant fell into the Aztec river while trying to get out of the row-boat and luckily escaped injury.
In a game in Medieval Zone in series 2, an electric bell sound was used to indicate when a player stood on the wrong step in a puzzle game.
Sometimes in the Aztec zone the camera briefly showed glimpses of the metal roof of the hangar the show was filmed in.
