The NCIS episode schedule is packed with new content this December, but the long winter hiatus is also coming.

There was no new NCIS episode on November 18, with the Monday night drama taking a week off at CBS.

A string of new Season 22 episodes debut over the next few weeks, giving fans lots of content before the break.

That string of new episodes begins with NCIS Season 22, Episode 6, debuting on Monday, November 25.

A new episode of NCIS: Origins will also air that Monday night. The prequel show will present a new story from Gibbs’ past.

For anyone who wants to catch up on the first season of NCIS: Origins, the earlier episodes are available for streaming on Paramount+.

On Nov. 13, CBS revealed winter premiere dates for new and returning shows, including NCIS: Sydney. Season 2 of the Australian-set drama will begin airing on Friday, Jan. 31 at 8 p.m. Et/Pt.

“Y’all ready for this?” asked series star Olivia Swann on Instagram after the premiere date was announced.

The Friday night timeslot for the first international NCIS show is a change from season 1, when it aired on Tuesday evenings. For season 2, NCIS: Sydney will take over S.W.A.T.’s 8 p.m. timeslot. S.W.A.T. is moving to the 10 p.m. slot previously occupied by Blue Bloods, which will wrap up its 14-season run in December.

NCIS: Sydney Season 2 will have 10 episodes.

The first international edition of the very popular NCIS franchise was a hit in the 2023-2024 season. And now, Sydney is coming back. NCIS: Sydney was part of CBS’s primetime schedule last fall and took over the mothership’s old time slot, Tuesdays at 8/7c. (NCIS moved to Mondays at 9/8c in Season 19.) The Price Is Right at Night (8:00-9:00 p.m. Et/Pt), hosted by Drew Carey, and Raid the Cage, hosted by Damon Wayans Jr. and Jeannie Mai (9:00-10:00 p.m. Et/Pt), return to launch a night of games on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025.

Hollywood Squares

Hollywood Squares, starring award-winning actress and talk show host Drew Barrymore as the center square and hosted by Nate Burleson (co-host of CBS Mornings and analyst for The NFL Today), premieres Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025 (8:00-9:00 p.m. Et/Pt). The classic game show features two contestants playing tic-tac-toe with celebrity guests to win money and prizes.

Hollywood Squares moves to Wednesdays (10:00-11:00 p.

Drew Barrymore will take center stage square at CBS in the early weeks of 2025.

The network has set its midseason premiere dates, including a Jan. 9 debut for Hollywood Squares, the latest iteration of the game show that will feature Barrymore in the center square and Nate Burleson as host. The show will air on Thursdays for three weeks before joining fellow game shows The Price Is Right at Night and Raid the Cage on Wednesdays beginning Jan. 29. The latter two shows are set to premiere Jan. 8.

Two drama series are also set for January premieres: Watson, a Sherlock Holmes-adjacent medical mystery series starring Morris Chestnut, will follow the NFL’s AFC Championship game on Jan. 26 before settling into its regular Sunday night home on Feb. 16. Season two of NCIS: Sydney will join CBS’ Friday lineup on Jan. 31.

The bulk of the network’s scripted series will take the first weeks of 2025 off.

CBS has set winter premiere dates for new and returning series on its 2024-25 primetime schedule, including Tracker, Matlock, FBI and NCIS franchises, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, Watson, and more.

New medical drama Watson starring Morris Chestnut, which premieres January 26 following the AFC Championship game, will move to its regular time period beginning Sunday, Feb. 16 at 9 p.m. Originally scheduled for the 10 p.m. slot, Watson is now sandwiched between Tracker at 8 p.m and The Equalizer, which caps off the night in its new time period at 10 p.m.

NCIS: Sydney returns for a second season on Friday, Jan. 31 at 8 p.m. and S.W.A.T. moves to 10 p.m.

NCIS: Origins will follow a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs and tell new stories about the character made famous by Mark Harmon.

NCIS: Origins is set in 1991, years before the events shown on NCIS.

On the new show, a different actor plays Gibbs, which may frustrate some die-hard NCIS fans who feel there is only one Gibbs.

Some fans also believed the job should have gone to Mark Harmon’s son, Sean Harmon. The younger Harmon guest-starred on NCIS as a young Gibbs in flashback episodes.

A younger Mike Franks (played by Kyle Schmid) is also ready to help the show thrive.

CBS on Saturday became the fourth broadcast network (after ABC, The CW and NBC) to lock down premiere dates for the Fall TV season.

Survivor is first out the gate when it returns for Season 47 on Wednesday, Sept. 18. Meanwhile, two of the Eye network’s high-profile launches will receive “sneak peeks” later that month, with Kathy Bates’ Matlock reimagining premiering on a special night, Sunday, Sept. 22, followed by reality competition series The Summit, which will bow Sunday, Sept. 29.

NCIS’ predecessor will at last be available to stream in its entirety.

Prime Video will host all 10 seasons of Jag beginning Monday, July 1. Whereas current rights holder Paramount+ only has select episodes, a source tells TVLine that Amazon has licensed the rights to every episode of the Navy drama — so, barring any operational delays, all 227 installments will be available to binge ahead of Independence Day.

Among the slew of things that have gotten people hooked on The Bear is the relationship that seems to be on the horizon between Jeremy Allen White’s Carmy and Eyo Adebiri’s Sydney. While the slow-burn setting of their romance is something that has been widely discussed and anticipated, an update from White himself has been welcome news, despite it being unpopular.

When the writer's strikes happened in 2023, fans were left without an NCIS fix for the first time in over twenty years.

Meanwhile, a new spinoff, NCIS: Sydney, was happening in another part of the world for the first out-of-country NCIS spinoff in history.

The upcoming NCIS spinoff featuring Tony Dinozzo and Ziva David may also take place out of the US.

Originally, there were no plans for NCIS: Syndey to air on US television. But when the strikes shut down television production, CBS picked it up for the fall lineup.

Fans rejoiced at the news of an order for a second season of NCIS: Sydney, while we mourned the cancellation announcement for sister show NCIS: Hawai'i.

Paolo Cortellesi’s “There’s Still Tomorrow,” a box office smash in its native Italy, was Sunday named winner of the Sydney Film Prize at the end of the Sydney Film Festival (June 5-16)

A jury headed by Danis Tanovic called the film about an industrious woman in post WWII Rome “audacious, cutting-edge and courageous.” The prize is one of the richest awarded at any festival and is worth A$60,000.

The announcement was made at the city’s State Theatre ahead of the Australian premiere screening of the Demi Moore-starring Cannes hit “The Substance.”

The A$20,000 Documentary Australia award went to local filmmaker James Bradley, for “Welcome to Babel,” which charts Chinese-Australian artist Jiawei Shen’s plans to create an epic work.
