After the gun battle on the beach, Farley orders a salad to use the olive oil to clean his gun. Although clever in a way, experts admit this not entirely advisable. It may indeed work, but being a vegetable oil, it can rot, causing damage to it in the long run. It may be, however, that Farley intended to clean the gun properly with Cosmoline(TM) or some other suitable chemical.
