Plot

"Herman", based on Lars Saabye Christensen's novel of the same name, tells the story of the young boy Herman who suddenly loses his hair and becomes bald at the age of eleven. Movie follows him through what is a very difficult period in his life, through big mood swings and irrational behaviour until he finally learns to accept himself for who he is.—Rune Dahl Fitjar <rfitjar@online.no>

In Norway, the boy Herman Fulkt lives with his father, who is a crane operator; his mother; and his grandfather that is very ill but gives attention to his grandson. Herman is bullied at school but the red-haired mate Ruby likes him. When Herman goes to the barber shop to cut his hair, the barber Tjukken asks to talk to his mother. Then she goes with him to the doctor and soon Herman learns that he is losing his hair and will become bald very soon. How will Herman react to the news?—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
