When Gene Hackman and Brian Dennehy's characters are giving Ann Ann Margret a bouquet, the bouquet goes from yellow flowers to white to yellow to white with changing film angles, also the bouquet goes in the wrapper then out, then in then out again.

From Trivia, the baseball game that Harry was watching on his 50th birthday was played on June 20, 1984, suggesting that Harry was born June 20, 1934.

However, the next day, Harry shows up for work where there is a prominent sign showing "41" days since last factory loss of work due to injury - "April 23, 1984," making his calculated birthday, yesterday, as June 2. Shifts at the steel plant run around the clock (as seen), and this assumes also similar weekend shifts.

Since Sunny remarks that Harry's birthday party is on a Saturday, the June 2nd date would seem to be the intended correct date (which makes the baseball game on TV an anachronism since it wasn't played until 18 days later).

One character also mentions the Seattle Seahawks season starts in four weeks. The team's first preseason game that year was the Hall of Fame game on July 28th. Their first regular season game was on September 3rd.

During breakfast at what seems to be a day shortly after Harry's first date with Audrey in early June 1984, Harry reads about a baseball game in the newspaper which, from his description, occurred on July 1st, 1984. But wait, there's more! The calendar on the wall behind Harry is for August 1984.
