Two actors from the Star Trek franchise appeared in this movie: Nichelle Nichols, who played Nyota Uhura on the original Star Trek (1966) series, and LeVar Burton, who would go on to play Geordi La Forge on Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987).
Maxwell Caulfield would later go on to co-star in the epic civil war film "Gettysburg" (1993).
Maurice Gibb: as a Union Soldier, was originally slated to do the score. A cut of the movie with his score is circulating, but the released version features that of Robert O. Ragland instead.
