Hime-chan no Ribbon, (AKA Hime-chan's Ribbon) is probably one of the sweetest, yet intelligent, series I have ever seen. Although a Magical Girl series, Hime-chan is different, not relying any on the Sailor Moon approach. The series is more about growing up then about waving around batons. :) All the characters have a distinct personality, and their interactions bring the story to life. I suggest finding yourself this series today!

This series is another adorable "magic girl" anime I love. I vaguely remember watching the first two episodes online; I just didn't remember when. But I am fortunate to watch the series on YouTube.
Anyway, the story goes like this: One night, a beautiful girl, who flew on a broomstick, visited 12-year-old, tomboyish Himeko Nonohara. The girl had lovely, long hair and resembled Himeko perfectly. Her name is Erika, and she is a princess from a magic kingdom quite similar to the one in "Sally the Witch." She had come to give Himeko a magic hair ribbon/bracelet she had made for her to try. A member of the royal family qualifies for the throne by testing a magical invention. Well, the ribbon gives Hime the power to change into somebody, so long as she stands in front of a mirror. The ribbon also has the power to bring Hime's cherished stuffed lion, Pokota, to life to assist her in the many mishaps that come her way. So, that is all I could tell you, folks.
I really love the friendship Hime shares with Pokota and Erika; I thought it was so sweet. Overall, I like this lovely series, complete with a fantastic plot and animation. I look forward to the release of the series on DVD in North America, and I hope that the manga will be available in English someday.

It's my favorite shojo series of all time. Unfortunately it was never shown much love and never got put on DVD in the USA which to me is a crime. One person called it sweet and I totally agree but it's also funny and one particular Arc will pull on your heartstrings. I saw the whole thing from fan subs because it was never put on DVD as I said earlier. Enjoyed it from beginning to end!
