Some Christmas songs are good all year. However, Darlene Love refuses to sing “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” except during a certain time. Notably, she recorded a spiritual sequel to “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).” Love’s most famous song was also an influence on Yuletide music by other artists.
Darlene Love’s ‘Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)’ is part of the best Yuletide album
Love is a singer who performed on hit songs by The Crystals, the most famous being “He’s a Rebel” and “He’s Sure the Boy I Love.” She also sang multiple tracks on A Christmas Gift for You from Philles Records, also known as A Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector. The album is widely considered to be the best Christmas album ever — and one of the best albums of all time from any genre. That record includes Love’s signature song: “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).” Interestingly,...

It’s that time of year when family favorites of the holiday season are played repeatedly on TV. Movies like Home Alone, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Elf, A Christmas Story and The Santa Clause are on heavy rotations. Even though the movie is as popular as ever (complete with brand-new merchandise released decades after its premiere), Succession star Kieran Culkin revealed recently that he actually had not allowed his children to watch Home Alone, which stars his brother Macaulay and features him in a small role.
You might ask, “But why?” Is it because he doesn’t want his children to see him guzzle down Pepsi with the implication that he’ll wet the bed? The explanation is actually much simpler and more sensible. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Culkin would tell E! News that “there’s still some scary parts” for his young children.

In a remarkable political comeback, Donald Trump has secured a second term as the US president, triumphing over Democratic rival Kamala Harris in a contested election. The 78-year-old Republican leader surpassed the crucial 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency with Wisconsin emerging as the decisive battleground state that sealed his victory. But did you know before making his way to the White House, Trump was an unexpected Hollywood regular?
Known for his real estate empire and a larger-than-life persona, Trump had an unusual side hustle, he was a cameo king! Long before his political career took off, Trump was dabbling in movies and TV shows, often playing, well, Donald Trump. In his first cameo in Ghosts Can’t Do It, Trump appeared as a version of himself. But it was his appearance in Home Alone 2 that left a lasting impact on pop culture.

Right now is a scary time to be living in America, as the country is just days away from an election that will decide the next president: Will it be the current vice president, or the anthropomorphic hemorrhoid who retroactively ruined Home Alone 2? Stay tuned.
At this crucial moment in history, the Fourth Estate is more important than ever. But since cable news is a dumpster fire, and major newspapers seem to be ethically-kneecapped by their billionaire owners, we will instead have to rely on the journalistic integrity of a rubber hand puppet.

Anyone who says "The Boys" has been trying too hard to be political of late seemingly wasn't paying close attention back in season 1. Creator Eric Kripke's pitch-dark, immensely raunchy small screen take on writer Garth Ennis and illustrator Darick Robertson's comic books of the same name is many things, but subtle or understated has never been one of them. Indeed, it's a series whose fundamental approach to social satire has always basically amounted to, "Who would [Insert Name Of Infamous Real-Life Figure] be if they existed in a world of superheroes?"
In the case of convicted felon Donald Trump, the creatives behind "The Boys" have made it crystal clear that they perceive him as our version of Homelander (and vice versa). The parallels between Antony Starr's milk-slurping, evil Superman-y "Supe" and the "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" actor are practically impossible to miss, even when "The Boys" doesn't underline its social...

Former President of the United States and "Home Alone 2" actor Donald Trump isn't happy about how he's portrayed in the explosive new biopic "The Apprentice." The movie, which stars Sebastian Stan as Trump, takes a searing look at Trump's real-estate career in New York in the 1970s and 1980s, and though it's not exactly clear if Trump has seen the film, he does not like it.
The film officially released in the United States on Friday, October 11, and Trump quickly took to Truth Social, his social media platform, to put the movie on blast.

While speaking with talk show host Graham Norton, Hugh Grant admitted he doesn’t remember working with Donald Trump particularly well, despite the fact that their paths crossed on the set of his 2002 film “Two Weeks Notice.”
“He played a bit part as himself in a romantic comedy I did with Sandra Bullock,” Grant explained. “But the fact is that I don’t really remember him very well. The night he came, I had a bet with Sandy that I could make the chairman of Warner Bros. cry by 9 p.m.”
The bet was much more important to him than the future president’s visit, Grant said. “And I was completely focused on that. It’s quite a big bet. She didn’t believe I could do it, but I did it.”
“So I’m afraid Donald Trump didn’t really register,” Grant added. He did not reveal how he made the Warner Bros.

Francis Ford Coppola drew gasps and groans for a prediction he’s now made about the upcoming presidential election.
The filmmaker joined his friends and collaborators Robert De Niro and Spike Lee for a Q&a livestreamed from New York’s AMC Lincoln Square to 65 IMAX theaters across the U.S. on September 24 before a New York Film Festival screening of “Megalopolis.”
The trio, in conversation with New York Film Festival artistic director Dennis Lim, shared reminiscences from their friendship before Coppola went deep on how “Megalopolis” can be seen as a metaphor for the fall of Rome — and explained why he thinks America is headed down the same path.
“My films are a little prescient, they relate to the future,” Coppola said, noting that people asked him “Why are you making a movie about eavesdropping?” when “The Conversation” came out. And then the Watergate tapes dropped shortly thereafter.

Children of the 1980s understand how deeply weird it is that Donald Trump is now considered a politician. 40 years ago, Trump was a clownish pop culture figure more than anything. He was often described as a real estate mogul in the press, but he was more often parodied on sitcoms and in comic strips as the world's worst millionaire, a caricature of a pseudo-celebrity, and the central symbol of Ronald Reagan's aggressively wicked yuppie class. He was a whimsical punchline more than he was a respected businessman and his financial failures were just as notorious as his successes. I personally recall a joke from Mad Magazine that said Trump was working on a book about his personal success ... but that he was stuck on Chapter 11.
Trump served as the template for multiple villains in other media, including Gordon Gekko from "Wall Street," C. Montgomery Burns from "The Simpsons," King Koopa in "Super Mario Bros,...

After Donald Trump’s debate performance last night, which found the former Home Alone 2: Lost in New York star ranting and raving about imaginary problems (some of which involving immigrants in a city literally named “Springfield”), naturally people’s minds drifted to The Simpsons.
Specifically, viewers likened Trump’s geriatric outrage to the famous meme depicting a news clipping of Grampa Simpson yelling at a cloud. This excerpt from a Season 13 episode has become social media’s defining image of impotent elder rage targeting nonexistent threats.
Longtime Simpsons writer Al Jean even felt compelled to deploy the meme for the very first time, following years of self-restraint, claiming, “I think now is the time.”
Even wilder, Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz implicitly compared Trump to the Grampa Simpson meme by telling ABC News that the “angry” and “unhinged” former president reminded him of “an old man yelling at the clouds.

He's back! Fresh off returning to the most famous role of his career (when he returned as Batman in The Flash), Michael Keaton is reprising his second-most-famous role, also for the first time in over 30 years, as he brings back the wacky, outrageous, out-of-this-world Beetlejuice.

50 years after its original run, the Norman Lear-produced sitcom "Good Times" is more than just "Dy-no-mite!" It's a spinoff within a spinoff and a classic Black family sitcom that inspired controversy as well as laughter. Like many beloved shows from the '70s, "Good Times" made headlines for behind-the-scenes drama and cast disagreements, but it also captivated audiences.
Originally formulated as a spinoff of "Maude" (which was itself a spinoff of unlikely hit "All in the Family"), "Good Times" retconned its central characters and setting in favor of a new premise. Henry (John Amos) became James, the family got poorer, and the setting switched from New York to Chicago, where it took inspiration from the Cabrini-Green housing projects. Audiences still dug the new show, though by the time it signed off five years later, it had changed entirely: Amos and original star Esther Rolle had left, and the show's most one-dimensional character,...

Pills, porno, Pokemon cards – The Three P’s! Mysterious Ways reminds us there’s more to faith than avoiding these sins of the flesh in director Tyler Eaton’s comedic and demonic feature debut. Anchored by strong performances and an equally strong message, the film asks viewers to place faith in each other above all, even if one of us is a devoted Bigfoot truther.
Mysterious Ways follows religious siblings Denise (Alyssa Sabo) and her brother Charlie (Brandon Raman) as they attempt to pick up the pieces of their congregation after their parents’ deaths. Children of a pastor, the duo find themselves embarking on much different paths. Denise desperately clings to the church, immersing herself in everything from worship group sleepovers to teen graphic novels featuring Christ crusaders fighting Satanists with Uzi’s. On the flip side is Charlie, slowly becoming disillusioned with his life, planning to escape his situation...

Jon Landau, the illustrious producer and COO of James Cameron‘s Lightstorm Entertainment, died July 5 in Los Angeles after a 16-month-long battle with cancer. He was 63.
Landau produced films generated by Cameron that include 1997’s Best Picture Oscar winner Titanic, which tied Ben-Hur for most Academy Awards, 11. That film for a time was the largest grossing film of all time until it was surpassed by another Cameron blockbuster, the 2009 Avatar, which Landau also produced. Other credits included Avatar: The Way of Water, Solaris, Alita: Battle Angel directed by Robert Rodriguez, and he co-produced Honey, I Shrunk the Kids and Dick Tracy.
During his 27-year partnership with Cameron, having joined the director in the making of Titanic in 1995, Landau produced three of the five highest-grossing films of all time, Avatar, Titanic and Avatar: The Way of Water. Remember when Donald Trump was just some random rich dude from the establishment who had a role in Home Alone 2? The good ol’ times, eh? Now, the former US President is one of the most controversial figures in American politics, a man who is a walking contradiction and a blatant liar, a man who managed to trick a nation into electing him, and all he did was – nothing! He is running for President once again and while he was elected as the Republican candidate to compete against Joe Biden, his future seems somewhat uncertain as he has been found guilty on all 34 felony charges in New York!
A jury of 12 of Trump’s peers, 12 people who have been selected and accepted as neutral observes of the process and who are – and that is the gist of the American justice system – capable of judging someone who is their equal, has...

Mark Hamill, Lynda Carter, George Takei and Sheryl Lee Ralph are among those in Hollywood who have taken to social media to share their reaction to Donald Trump’s guilty verdict in his New York criminal hush money trial.
A jury found the former president, who could face four years in prison or probation, guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records. Throughout the five weeks of testimony, the jury heard from a former tabloid publisher, a Hollywood fixer, Trump’s former lawyer and a porn star.
Trump also became the first former president to be convicted of felony crimes. Sentencing is set for July 11.
Ralph, star on Abbott Elementary, quickly took to X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday, writing, “Former President Donald Trump has been found guilty of all 34 counts he faced. A cheer has erupted from Collect Pond Park.”

Home Alone Star Recalls One "Wild" Night with Donald Trump After Shooting Sequel - Main Image
Home Alone 2 star shares the "wild" night he had with Donald Trump, the former US President, after filming.
The Home Alone franchise will always be that classic '90s comedy flick that sparks nostalgia on Christmas day. However, what makes it stand out from the rest is because of one particular cameo from Donald Trump in the sequel.
Before we get into that though, here's how Trump made it into Home Alone 2.
Explaining That Donald Trump Cameo in Home Alone 2
When Kevin McCallister (played by Macaulay Culkin) was asking for directions to go into The Plaza Hotel in the sequel, he ran into Donald Trump, who owned the establishment in real life at the time.
While that would have explained the cameo, helmer Chris Columbus said it wasn't that simple.

Hollywood actor, artist, director, and screenwriter Daniel Stern has bagged a ton of hilariously iconic roles in comedies throughout his career and has managed to land a spectacular performance in nearly every single one of them. As fans must have already understood after watching him in the Home Alone film series, he is immensely dedicated to his work to the core.

That said, this tremendous commitment once almost had him losing his life while working on his comedy-action from 1981, Honky Tonk Freeway. And, ironically enough, Stern didn’t risk his life this badly while shooting an action scene, but rather, this happened while he was shooting a simple scene, for he accidentally consumed real drugs on set instead of using substitutes!

Macaulay Culkin, the actor who reached extraordinary heights of fame and success with his tremendous portrayal of the genius Kevin McCallister in his version of the Home Alone saga, actually shared a rather peculiar relationship with Michael Jackson in the eyes of the public. That being said, most fans may not know that this friendship actually started with a phone call.

As Culkin himself admitted it, the pair probably wouldn’t have shared the kind of close relationship they did had it not been for one “weird, random” call that the child actor received from the now-deceased King of Pop. And, although this may sound similar to the rumors surrounding Jackson’s alleged abuse of youngsters, that’s hardly the case, and Culkin stands as a witness to this claim.

Turning into a cultural phenomenon following its release in 1990, the Home Alone franchise thereafter became the universal theme for the holiday season. Further, appearing in memes and other forms of media, the franchise became a huge box-office success. And certainly, the credit goes to its iconic cast, including Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, and Daniel Stern.

Recalling how he was stripped of his deserving salary, despite his co-stars getting eye-watering amounts, Stern mentioned how he had to fight with producers for his demands.

Over the years, one could say that the Culkin family has ruled the film industry. Kieran, Macaulay, Rory, Christian, and Shane Culkin are all part of the film industry in some way or the other. The siblings have worked as actors in some of the most well-known projects in Hollywood, establishing their empire in the most iconic of ways.

Residuals aren’t what they used to be, apparently even if you’re A-list talent.
That’s what Kate Hudson revealed on her Sibling Revelry podcast on Monday while speaking about the minuscule checks she receives from her brief appearance as a child in the hit sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Hudson asked her guest, fellow actor Joey Lawrence, about being paid for his work in commercials as a child.

Home Alone star Catherine O’Hara is opening up about one of the longest-running questions surrounding the hit movie.
If you forgot, the Schitt’s Creek actress played Macaulay Culkin‘s mom in the franchise. That means that her character lived in the iconic Home Alone house.
There have been a lot of questions about the home over the years, especially after a recent analysis revealed that it would have cost a sizeable fortune.
People now wonder how the fictional McCallister family afforded the home, and Catherine had a few theories.
Keep reading to find out more…
Speaking to People, Catherine hypothesized that her onscreen husband Peter (played by John Heard), “had his own religion.”
She joked that the “Church of the McCallisters” allowed them to amass the funds necessary to buy the house. Her other theory: “Maybe he inherited it… they inherited it.”
“I thought the house was pretty amazing,” Catherine added.

Elvis Presley might have been accused of cultural appropriation more than any other singer. A famous singer from the 1960s didn’t seem to take issue with the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll taking inspiration from Black music. Of course, her perspective is not universal.
A member of a Black girl group didn’t feel Elvis Presley committed cultural appropriation
Darlene Love was a member of the Black girl group The Blossoms, which worked with Phil Spector. The Blossoms released classic tunes such as “He’s Sure the Boy I Love” and “He’s a Rebel,” both of which were incorrectly attributed to The Crystals. As a solo singer, Love became most known for a pair of Christmas recordings: the seasonal favorite “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” and the Home Alone 2 soundtrack single “All Alone on Christmas.”
During a 2018 interview with The Village Voice, Love was asked if Elvis appropriated music.

Three weeks after premiering on Netflix, Young Sheldon has ascended to the most watched show on streaming platforms in the United States. A platform switch to Netflix also sent The Super Mario Bros. Movie to its biggest streaming week to date.
The two titles, which rank second and third on Nielsen’s streaming chart for the week of Dec. 4-10, are the latest examples of Netflix’s multiplying power. As the aftereffects of the writers’ and actors’ strikes hit streaming in a big way, there’s not a lot of new content to offer subscribers early in 2024. Hulu still has some interesting things to offer in January, though.
The biggest new Hulu Original series in the new year is Death and Other Details, a locked room murder mystery starring Mandy Patinkin as Rufus Cotesworth, who is said to be the world’s greatest detective – at least in this universe. In the new series, Cotesworth comes to the rescue when an unfortunate soul is killed on lavish Mediterranean ocean liner, and he has to team up with the prime suspect (Violett Beane) to solve the crime.
The big Original movie premiere in January is Self Reliance, which follows a middle-aged dude (Jake Johnson) who gets randomly invited into a limo by Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Andy Samberg, and is soon offered...

If you watched Home Alone 2 over the holidays, you likely caught Donald Trump making a brief cameo. The scene was filmed at the Plaza Hotel, which Trump owned at the time, and found Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) asking him for directions.
While speaking with Business Insider in 2020, Home Alone 2 director Chris Columbus claimed that Donald Trump “bullied” his way into the movie. “Like most locations in New York City, you just pay a fee and you are allowed to shoot in that location,” Columbus said. “We approached The Plaza Hotel, which Trump owned at the time, because we wanted to shoot in the lobby. We couldn’t rebuild The Plaza on a soundstage.“
Columbus continued: “Trump said Ok. We paid the fee, but he also said, ‘The only way you can use the Plaza is if I’m in the movie.’ So we agreed to put him in the movie,...

There was no bullying involved in the Donald Trump cameo in 1992’s Home Alone 2, says the former president, responding to claims by the film’s director, Chris Columbus, that he “bullied” his way into the picture.
“Nothing could be further from the truth,” Trump said on social media on Wednesday. “That cameo helped make the movie a success. But if they felt bullied, or didn’t want me, why did they put me in, and keep me there for over 30 years?”
Trump said he was begged to appear, but was “very busy” at the time and “didn’t want to do it.” But the filmmakers were “persistent,” so he agreed.
Trump has been accused of applying a quid pro quo for the filming at his Plaza Hotel.
“Like most locations in New York City, you just pay a fee and you are allowed to shoot in that location,” said Columbus.

Donald Trump criticized “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” director Chris Columbus on Wednesday for claiming in an interview that Trump bullied his way into the 1992 sequel.
On Trump’s social media platform Truth Social, the former U.S. president said that Columbus and the production team were “begging me to make a cameo appearance in ‘Home Alone 2.'”
“They rented the Plaza Hotel in New York, which I owned at the time. I was very busy, and didn’t want to do it. They were very nice, but above all, persistent,” Trump wrote. “I agreed, and the rest is history! That little cameo took off like a rocket, and the movie was a big success, and still is, especially around Christmas time. People call me whenever it is aired.”

What’s Christmas without the Grinch? Donald Trump has lashed out against Home Alone 2: Lost in New York director Chris Columbus over comments alleging that the multi-indicted former president had to “bully” his way into his infamous cameo in the film.
It’s long been known that Trump’s bit part in Home Alone 2, in which he gives Macaulay Culkin’s Kevin McCallister directions to the Plaza Hotel lobby, was an act of quid pro quo. Trump owned the Plaza at the time, and when the production asked to film inside the iconic building, the egotistical landlord had one condition on top of the standard fee request:
“We paid the fee, but he also said, ‘The only way you can use the Plaza is if I’m in the movie,'” Columbus told Business Insider. “So we agreed to put him in the movie, and when we...

You can be home alone, too, if you buy the Home Alone 2 townhouse.
The lux townhouse featured in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is on sale for a mere $6.7 million.
Located on Manhattan’s ritzy Upper West Side at 51 West 95th Street, between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue, the four-bedroom and four-and-a-half-bathroom home is where Kevin outsmarted the ‘Sticky Bandits’ in the classic holiday film.
Listing agents are Dexter Guerrieri and Nicole Kats of Vandenberg of Townhouse Experts.
“Even though the film was released two decades ago, the townhouse owners still get letters from children at their address. Also, just a few days ago a couple from German stood outside, taking photos,” Guerrieri and Kats said.
The home feature decorative moldings, high ceilings, walnut floors and two sets of bay windows. The home boasts a formal living and dining room with glass doors that open to a garden with mature trees,...
