      August 21, 1993 TV Guide called the unaired show a mess. "They don't have a show. They don't even have a clue" said an insider. Part of the variety show's success will depend on Poundstone's ability to do unscripted comedy with guests. She has practiced her technique at workshops, but the execs are concerned that the series won't be ready for its scheduled Oct.30 premiere.

    This series is Paula's six-episode HBO show. The other reviewers are leaving comments about her ABC show from 1990. This show was charming, with a healthy dose of her standup in each episode and excellent music. (The ABC show had great music as well.)
